DDA Chapter 10

Today is my baby's 22nd birthday!

Yesterday we went to a winery for a tasting and discovered that their wines are actually quite good! The cost for the full tasting was only $10 (there were less expensive choices) and it included FOURTEEN wines and the glass, presented by the most unexpectedly odd presenter. I have to say I might have learned more about pairing wines and food from her than ever in one sitting, but she was totally not what you expect in a winery!

She dressed like a rural housewife from the 60s (NOT hippie), was cross-eyed and wore bottle thick glasses and retainers on both her upper and lower teeth She had a Northern Neck of Virginia twang filled with comparisons between automobiles and cars. She also had a lot of anecdotes about her 82 year old Aunt Kate and her love of wines. She was hysterical, but boy does she know her wine. Kristin fell in love with this character and told her that when she grows up she wants to be Aunt Kate.

We are going back next week because for $20 they are hosting a three hour "Matching Wine with Cheese" event. It includes music, tours, tastings, food and another souvenir glass. That should be fun!!

Sounds like a fun day yesterday, Elin. Happy birthday to Kristin!

Jennifer the pictures of Elise are so cute, she is moving right along :goodvibes

Heidi & Tia how exciting to get a pin code, sorry you will not be able to use them though :(

Elin Happy Birthday to your DD :bday:

Tammi I was wondering the same thing about the bug spray :confused3

We just had a wicked lightening storm pass through, woke me up :scared1: It is still raining with some thunder & lightening, I hope it passes through soon!

:wizard: & to all missed!

I had no luck getting more boxes at work yesterday, so I went and bought a couple of large totes(thanks to Riley's quick thinking ;)). All I have left to pack up in the kitchen is the food & a few odds & ends that we are using now. I will finish this up Monday night.

I looked at luggage, but did not see any that I cared for. If I have time I might look elsewhere, otherwise I will make it all fit with what I have somehow :rotfl:

The weather forecast has changed for Tuesday & is calling for thunderstorms. We are on the last flight out for the day, I pray for no delays or cancellations!

I can't believe we leave in TWO days :woohoo:

Happy Birthday Kristin

Deb - did you do the 450 ft. or the 600 ft. parasailing? And how old is Colby. Sammy's website says "over 5 yrs. old" Does 5 yrs and 9 months mean "over 5 yrs. old"? Bethany is 5 now, and I thought Colby is as well. He parasailed, right?

That is something I would like to do.

Happy Birthday, Kristin!

The wine event sounds really fun, however "different"! :rotfl:

I cannot believe how much they have grown already!

You're telling me!

I hope you do get to go parasailing, it would be so much fun!

Hooray! :yay: You're going to have a wonderful time!

Good morning...

Emma and I really enjoyed our time out yesterday. Kit was really cute and Emma really liked the movie. It had a great message and both of us were in tears throughout various parts of it.

We had to run some errands at Target and then she went to her friend's little brother's birthday party. Eric, Mo, Lucy and I went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner. Then we went to BJ's and picked up the Hannah Montana for the Wii. I dropped Eric and Lucy off and Mo and I went to pick up Emma and we ended up with her friend as well. The 3 of them had a blast playing the new game. And Tammi, they all liked the shopping part best too!!

Today we are headed to Dana's for a cookout. She called me and told me that all of her tests showed absolutely no problems with her heart. They now think most of the problems are anxiety related, in which she agrees, so they have given her some meds to help with that. Hopefully she is on the upswing. I told her the next time she needs help to just ask me. She is an only child and her mother at most times is rather unreliable and more so unpredictable. Thanks for the good thoughts.:goodvibes

Elin- Please wish Kristin a Happy Birthday from us. :cake: Your celebration sounded so interesting and fun. The wine and cheese tasting sounds great too.

Jennifer- How cute is Elise's new trick. It amazes how mobile babies are when they aren't very mobile at all. And I love their new shoes. Too cute.

Jen- I am so glad you got some shut eye!!

Debbie- Congrats on meeting another goal!! :cool1:

Heidi and Tia- That stinks you all got an unusable pin code.:sad2:

Elizabeth- Sounds like you all are having a great time!!!
