Oh my, you guys were somewhat chatty yesterday! I spent a hot day in the sun at the Tennis Masters tournament, and there's more tennis all weekend (although I'm not sure I'll be going much). It was a lot of fun, but it's just too darn hot and humid around here, for sure! :faint:

I'll be back on to catch up shortly.... I hope you're having good mornings! :goodvibes

:scared1:
Nicholas was thrilled, Alyssa not so much.
Glad to see you were able to sway her. I think you need to work with her more, she doesn't seem to be as Disney crazy as the rest.

Hi Elizabeth, sounds like a good first day, minus the mistakes.

Elizabeth, I am glad you loved Cali Grill. I always look forward to going there.

It took almost all day long, but we just got home with Bob's new car. He is happier than a penguin in an ice flow! And I have NO idea where that came from. :rotfl2:

:confused3 :rotfl:

Dawn and I are going to see Mama Mia tomorrow, can't wait.

ooh, I can't wait to hear what you think! I think it will be fabulous!

I spent yesterday at our local amusement park with Alan and the kids. It was his company's summer family party. I was a little leary about going. I was worried about being in the 100 degree heat with little shade, but I did really well. I kept hydrated, and stayed in the shade. I was able to ride 2 of the rides, and then I spent the rest of the day watching the family have fun. It was actually a really nice day. The kids had a great time, and Alan was able to win stuffed animals for all the kids. We managed to get home before midnight, but I'm having a hard time recuperating today. I'm bone tired. Guess I should try to have a nap before dinner and a movie tonight.

Sounds like a fun outing... I'm glad you were able to go! :goodvibes

Since things are a little slow, would anyone mind if I posted some pictures my sister sent me? She's trying to start a cake decorating business, and these are some cakes she's done. They are mostly wedding cakes, but she does some cute birthday cakes. I have to post the Winnie the Pooh one.

Gorgeous!

My latest project for Emma:

That's adorable! I'm always impressed!

I did, and I hate it. I hate seeing Tink as big or bigger than me. She's a pixie for crying out loud! :rotfl:

Well time to fill out the Christmas cards. :rolleyes1

Yup I have a sickness. ;) :teeth:

Well, I'm about halfway done shopping, and have a list/prices for most of the rest :rolleyes1

I was going to bring it up a week or two ago because I knew there were some DDAers with the same illness ;)

When will it end????? :sad2:

When people stop flying :sad2:

Thanks to Bernadette for showing the hat pattern over on the disboutique board. Leighanna is sadly outgrowing her bows and pigtails:sad2: , but she loves to wear hats!

Beautiful! Leighanna is getting so big, and is cute as ever! :goodvibes

Nicholas and Bob are at the movies. They went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth. Alyssa and I had no desire to see that so we went shopping to get their dad his bday present. Then we stopped and got a movie. She picked out Little House on the Prairie and we are watching that now. I also got my new cell phone today so now I need to read up on the instruction booklet.

That sounds like a wonderful mommy/daughter day! I hope Nicholas and Bob enjoyed the movie outing!

Thank you so much! I totally forgot about this, as I knew I would!

Tammi, did you see that the AP prices at least were compared later in that same thread?

I'm off to buy our vouchers. :headache:

She said she wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge instead! :faint:

No I didn't. I only read the first page. So they went up $22. I told Bob to order his this week before they went up. He'll be happy to hear what he saved.

I ordered ours as well. I wasn't going to at first, but to save $44 is at least a dinner anyway! :confused3

Congratulations!

Welcome home Beth!

Jen - :wizard: PD for your surgery and recovery, glad to hear your brother is on the mend.

Love the hats Tom and Bernadette

Glynis - Love your sister's cakes

Happy Belated Birthday Marci , hope you had a wonderful day!

I need to go out and see if I can find some clearance steals for myself today, I certainly don't have enough clothes to compensate for the heat on our trip. I've finally reached another of my weight loss goals, things are moving slowly but surely, so I don't want to invest much money in clothing that hopefully won't fit very long.

Tammi - did Nicholas enjoy the movie, we're thinking of taking Brandon to see it.

Heidi - Working in retail, Christmas is almost a dirty word around here

She said she wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge instead! :faint:

I bet that is because that seems to be the vacation of choice this summer for families in our area. Less than a tank of gas and lots to keep the kids occupied, indoors and out!

That is terrific news, Debbie! Congratulations again!

Thanks!

Tia-The piecing the patchwork pieces is easy but I had some real problems doing the basting and gathering. The directions suggested using a different color thread for the bobbin to easily see which threads to pull. So I just grabbed any thread and didn't know it was some really cheap stuff that kept breaking once I tried pulling on it.:scared: Then the pins I had marking the 1/4's kept falling out. SO....the next project I did I just basted in 4 sections and you know what it looks fine! It was SOOOOOO much easier to do it this way and while it isn't perfectly evenly gathered over the entire garment is is good enough. I also used a zig zag stitch over dental floss to gather and found that easier.

This Pooh nightgown of Lizzy's is the one I did that on and I don't think you can see where I broke my gathering stitches.

Thanks! The gathering part is the one thing I have done. Is it ever even? Nope! But it usually looks fine and I know she doesn't mind. Luckily that's one area I don't obsess about getting perfect. I have an idea for one for Terra (actually for several), but I'm not sure I'll have a chance to getting even one done in time for our trip so your timing info really helped. Thanks!!

Thanks! Won't it be perfect with Emma's Car's outfit.

How's the packing? I still haven't done my grocery order or minimus order or even really thought about packing.:scared1: I think I have like 20 more things I'd like to make but will probably only get a few done. I'm working on this really cool Mickey bowling shirt for Joe. I WILL get that done this weekend. I just need make and add the collar and make and set in the sleeves. Would love to do a top for Lizzy, bowling shirt for Lizzy, dress for Emma, colored pencil roll ups for my 3 and Halley, another bowling shirt for Joe, bowling shirt for Halley, hats for Joe & Lizzy & Halley and one for Emma to match her lizard shirt.......:rotfl2:

Was there a link to instructions for the pencil/crayon roll ups? That was the other one I wanted to check out.

He did. He also said that it was a good thing that Alyssa didn't go because there were some scary parts where things jumped out at you. They went to the 3d version. Or maybe it's only in 3d. I'm not sure. :confused3

To me that is a winter vacation. Why would you go to a place that has an INDOOR pool in the summertime?

I see you redid your sig Elin. Very nice.
