DDA Chapter 10

I bet you could have made it more enjoyable for him if you had thought about it, Marci.... ;)

:rotfl: Oh he thought about it, but he knew I was on a mission for swimsuits to pack and wasn't particularly happy with my results so he backed off pretty quickly...

Oh, my! Good thoughts for her!! :wizard:

Marci - DH is working a route in Crandall? The warehouse is in Lancaster. This is a route with like 20 convenience stores where he did 10 or so yesterday and the remaining ones today. Which means he is on his own finding the locations today! :scared: No telling what time we'll see him tonight!

Anne Marie - Your trip sounds so close, but that means the END of my trip is close, too! :guilty:

That doesn't sound like any fun. Crandall is a hole in the wall town about 10 miles before you reach Kaufman. Their police are famous for speed traps so I always have to slow down when driving through there. I hope today goes better than expected!

Paula -- I don't think you are near where the earthquake was, but I'm still sending PD and hoping no one was hurt or injured in your family. Please check in when you get a minute.

didn't someone recently say that 40 is the new 30 Anne Marie?? I am still trying to buy into that one :rotfl2:
Yes, I have to say I totally agree with this statement!!
Dana & I were saying that we don't feel any different than we did at 20 now that we are 20 years older...hope I can say the same thing 20 years from now.:)

It was pretty good...most of the footage I have seen before...listening to his best friend talk about his final moments was really really sad.

I watched a few minutes and DVRed it...as soon as I finish my cleaning (and this break ;)) I am going to watch

at 30 I still believed I was immortal...at 40, not so much so....Bill said the only bday that bothered him was 30...what a nut

Well as far as getting rid of your land line..I would be afraid if there is a really bad emergency that they would not work. On 911 when I was trying to find out where Dana & his brother were you could not get cell service at all..the land lines worked but then again I was trying to call everyone on their cell.:confused3

Also I am concerned about the research they are doing on cell phone usuage & brain cancer. I'd rather err on the side of caution & not use them when I do not have to..just a thought.

:rotfl:

30 didn't bother me, 40 doesn't really bother me..it's just the idea that half my life is over (if I am lucky enought to make it 80!:rotfl: ) but I heard something cute the other day...you can either be a Tigger or an Eeyore when you look at life..I prefer to be a Tigger...so I refuse to grow up.;)

Thanks! It's me Anne Marie!!! Dana doesn't even know Theresa...Theresa is there something you need to tell me?:lmao: :rotfl: Thanks Terry!

Thank you!!!!!

Since it's my birthday I got to rip off the mickey head on our countdown...17 more days til Disney!

I don't know where my head was. I did correct it but after you copied it!!!!

Ds and I just got back from the sale at Talbot's. Nothing great. I bought him 4 uniform shirts that weren't really marked down that cheap. Then we went to Gap and bought 2 pairs of pants that were less expensive at full price than the sale ones at Talbot's. I figured better to just get it out of the way now so it will be done when we get back.

Turning 30 was fine, I am sure turning 40 will be fine (in 2 years ;) ). I like birthdays, because I get to have CAKE!

that was heartwrenching....it was almost all new to me. I was glad I had watched it and now I know I need to read the book.

this was the 3rd in the series...I cried my eyes out during the first 2...so I would agree that if you just saw all of this for the first time that it was tough.

definitely read the book

It's my day off. We have speech this morning then we'll head to the pool for a few hours. I have things to do around here, but I lack motivation. I do need to hit the stores tonight though. We are running out of things.

We are also thinking of changing our cellular phone company. Our contract is up so we can shop freely now. We are actually thinking of getting a better plan and giving up our land line. I can't think of any reason why we couldn't just use cell phones as long as they work well in our house. :confused3 We frequently have static on our house phone anyway and we've had them come several times to fix it, but it always seems to come back :confused3 Does anyone have a reason why we NEED to have a land line? I know you guys will play the devils advocate for me. I "think" that we can keep our home number on one of the cell phones

Deb,,,,,,After 30 years of having the same land line, we are going to have it disconnected. I went back and forth on keeping it, transferring it over to one of our phones or having a message give a cell number. Our cell carrier even said they could have handled the transfer of our home phone to one of our cells if we wanted. The final decision was that we can let the people we know what number to call and if we miss anyone, there is enough family out there that they can call. I will just give the change to anyone that I come in contact with as time goes on. The biggest reason for just having it disconnected. NO MORE TELEMARKETING CALLS!!!! also no more calls for our son who moved to Florida since he has a few bills he still owes. It will be hard since the number was such a part of us, but as Stephanie said, "Why have a phone that you do not get a lot of calls on?"

Other than the reasons I mentioned earlier, we would have gotten rid of our land line entirely. But we also are in the habit of listing our home number on forms for Dr. offices, the school, etc. so that's another reason to keep it. DH won't even get up to look at the Caller ID if the house phone rings. I'll look, but I usually won't answer unless I recognize the caller.

I tell ya -- maintenance on a house never ends. The electrician called to say they are finally going to install the ceiling fan in my master bath. Thank goodness -- I've been sweating trying to get ready in the mornings/evenings. It is just too hot outside. My carpenter ants seem to be back, and the plumber needs to get to the house before our nephew and his fiance show up next week.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Marci I hope all your house maintenance is taken care of quickly :wizard:

So I am still back and forth with the surgeon...he actually called me and said he is working on it personally to get me in...So as of now i am going in on the 12th, which is killing me because that is RIGHT in the middle of Frankie's trip here. Dr McHottie is trying to get me in on the 6th so cross your fingers i can get in then!

Those are adorable! I'm off to look at the rest :goodvibes

Does that outfit look familiar? Thanks again! :)

Amy - Sweet pics, as always! :goodvibes
I like chef Duff. Go figure. :rolleyes1

Thanks Elizabeth!

While I'm not attracted to Chef Duff, he definitely entertains me.

Very cute pictures Amy!

Now Leighanna wants to go to the pool that you were at and KI. She loves Swipers' Sweeper.
It gives me a neck ache just looking at it!:headache:

Thanks Tom!

If you and Leighanna ever want to visit us during the summer months, we'll take you to our community pool! Swiper's Sweeper used to be called The Whip, I think. It's easy to see why! How did you spend your 5 days off? My grandparents vetoed the zoo, BTW.

Not with these gas prices!!:goodvibes

I loved looking at all your pics. Everyone is so photogenic. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Robyn!

Since I have no motivation or creativity to create a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake, I do still plan on using your rainbow cake, along with a Mickey Park theme. :thumbsup2

Amy - your pictures are adorable. :goodvibes:

Thank you Tammi!

amy--great pictures!!!

Thanks Jen!

Amy - Love the new pictures! Soooo sweet.

Thanks Tia!

Amy what great pictures, you have a very lovely family :goodvibes

Thank you Janet. Your "daughters" are lovely, too. :teeth:

Amy,
Loved the pictures..Sophie was here watching them with me. She said "AWWW Noah is so cute, I want a little brother too"!!

The kids are beautiful & you look wonderful.

Tell Sophie that Alyssa thinks little brothers lose their "cute appeal" when they start getting into her stuff! :rotfl:

And, thanks, especially for that wonderful comment. :goodvibes

Amy - LOVE your new pictures!

Thank you Elin!

The pics are great! Thanks for posting them. Tell Kevin he is only out of the doghouse temporarily. We do want to see Noah in the sig! :rotfl:

Thanks Marci!

Believe me, Kevin has a long list of things he should get done right now, including making our January ADRs! New signature and avatar are on his list, too! ;)

Happy Birthday, Anne Marie & Dana!

I'll scraplift this one (thanks Elin!)

Anne Marie, I hope you and Dana are having a great day! :)

I got a Wii! But what an ordeal it was. I called our local Costco to see if they had any in stock. I really wanted to get it here since I have a $20 gift card for the place. The girl says "yes we have about half a palette left. So I leave work and drive an hour to Costco, racing against time. I get there and come to find out they have the Wii's but no Fits. I hate stupid people. I specifically asked if they had any Wii FITS, not Wii's, but I digress. So I leave and as I get in my car I decide to call the Gamestop that is in the same mall as Costco. They have one left. I asked if he will hold it for me, as I am in the mall and will be there in a few minutes. He did, and I got it. $50 more than I wanted to spend, but nonetheless, I'm done searching for it. I also pre-ordered 2 new games that were coming out that you can play on the Fit. A skateboarding and a cheerleading. I figure they will be good Christmas presents for the kids. He said once they come out they will be as hard to get as the Fits. So I came home and got my Mii all set up. According to her, I'm 3 years younger!
