DDA Chapter 10

I did a little retail therapy after the work event....I got 6 pillows, 11 pairs of undies and 3 t-shirts for about $50.....I saved $150...and got a jump on back to school clothes shopping!!:goodvibes

That's a start! :thumbsup2 Are all of the panties for you? I bought 10 pairs at a Victoria Secret sale (10 for $25 instead of their ridiculous normal price) and they have been in the bag for months, waiting to go to WDW! I washed them all last weekend.

Hmm.... I wonder if all prices will go up? I vaguely remember when the AP prices jumped a year or two ago, it didn't seem like the MYW tickets did. Did you read any more details? We'll need to get our vouchers, too, if they're going up! Thanks for the heads up!

This is a problem for me because we weren't planning to do APs (or vouchers) again until next year. They are definitely NOT built into the budget for this trip. I wonder how much of an increase we are talking?

Good Morning,

Congratulations Glynis, please take care of yourself!

Theresa - I don't have any great words of wisdom, just follow your heart, and think things through before taking any actions.

Happy Belated Anniversary Deb and Chris, DH and I will be married 23 years tomorrow. We won't be exchanging gifts, we are considering our August trip our Anniversary trip.

Robyn - I hope Emma is feeling better, great job on the cake.

Elizabeth - Not only have I not started any packing, I have no idea what to pack. I'l probably have to go do some shopping as my wardrobe is extremely limited. After being harrassed at home and then at work I broke down and went bra shopping, DH is not happy that I dropped a cup size. :rotfl:

Debbie - Tell DH that you are healthier now and he should appreciate what a wonderful woman you are no matter what size bra you wear. If that doesn't work, just tell him to shut up. ;)
Happy Anniversary, by the way!

Thanks,

I thought about you when I woke up this morning, I had a very vivid dream where I let my DD and SIL, along with his Mom have it, so vivid that I woke up angry with them. :rotfl:

Well it's time for me to make my weekly trip to the grocery store,
later today we'll be making a trip over to the Disney store to put some money on a gift card.

Is anyone gathering cell numbers for the August trips?

PSA - I just read over on the TPAS Board that Undercover Tourist has announced that they'll be raising their ticket prices on 8/3. Sources seem to believe that Disney will make an announcement on 8/1 re: a ticket increase to go into effect on 8/3.

Guess I'll be getting ready to buy Jonathan's AP voucher for our Dec. trip!

Thanks for that update, Lindsay. Hmmmm... I don't know if I can afford to renew two APs by August 3, though!

It was nice to come on here this morning and see that you were able to post a little more. I hope after your horrible, no-good, rotten day today you have an opportunity to relax a bit on Sunday. :goodvibes

Thanks for the link to Deb's PhotoPass pictures again, Vicki. :) However, I still don't see the SSR Resort Shoot photos on there. The original 742 photos are there. Am I missing something? :confused3

Happy Belated Anniversary Deb and Chris, DH and I will be married 23 years tomorrow. We won't be exchanging gifts, we are considering our August trip our Anniversary trip.

Happy Anniversary to you and your DH, Debbie! As an anniversary gift to him make sure to get a really frilly new bra... ;)

Bob and I celebrate our 35th on Monday. hard to believe...

Wow you all were chatty yesterday. Bob and I went and did some back to school shopping, ate dinner out and went to see Mamma Mia. We both really enjoyed it.
Now I'm off to catch up. I have to find out if peanut is a pirate: or a princess: .

My kids come home today!!!! :yay: Although they won't get here until around 9 tonight. :guilty:

Lindsay - thanks for popping in. We miss you around here.

Jen - glad the interview went well. I hope you hear something soon and that they don't leave you hanging.

I bought everything on my kids' list except for two things. Nicholas' list says 2 dry erase markers and band aids. Um, should I send in chalk too? And what's wrong with the nurse's office? Aren't there any band aids there?

However, when we go to back to school night and I find out there is a reason that NICHOLAS needs the markers, then I will buy them. I am not supplying the teacher with them though.
Any of you following the school supply thread on the Family board? I was pretty sure my opinion of "I buy supplies for MY child, not for the whole school" wouldn't be very popular. I had a teacher tell me I am saying the TEACHERS should provide supplies. Nope. Never said that.
I said we got a list last year from Art, Science, Math, English, Band, and Social Studies. I bought every item on each list and sent them to school, where every bit of the stuff promptly disappeared, leaving DS with NO supplies! What did the teachers DO with all of DS's supplies? Did they honestly think I was GIVING that stuff to them to dole out to other people? :headache:

Whatever. DS is going back to school with a few pencils and some paper and very little else. As the first marking period progresses we will sort out what he REALLY needs, and I will go buy it. It will be in his backpack, not a Target bag, and he will NOT attempt to give it to the teacher.

You do amazing work, Robyn.

Here's Pat Pat Rocket.

WONDERFUL!!! I was hoping for a pirate: for you. Jacob needs a buddy! Congratulations! Did you get any pictures? Will you post them? I'm praying that everything is A-OK with Peanut.
Well, first things first.

It's a boy!!!!

Second, the doctor looked at several things. First, they ruled out spina bifida. The spine looks perfect! There are several "markers" they look for with regards to Down's syndrome; the measurement of part of the brain, the skin fold at the neck, eye spacing, and kidneys. Everything looks good except for the kidney. Even that was not enough to make the doctor nervous. At this stage in my pregnancy, his kidneys should be measuring at no more than 4.0 cm, but Peanut's right kidney is measuring 4.1. It's what they call a soft marker. So, that, along with my age, increase my chances of having a baby with Down's syndrome by 2 percent max. I can live with those odds!

We took all the kids with us, and they thought it was wonderful! At one point, it even looked like Peanut was waving to them. Alan and I were just so relieved that all seems to be well.

Thanks for all your prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust! We appreciate it all!

I got water shoes yesterday for myself and the kids, since we will be going to the water park this trip. See, Elizabeth, I'm packing in my head. :thumbsup2
Jen - I am packing. It's a good thing I started last weekend, because in the past week I have remembered a LOT of things that weren't on my packing list that I wanted to bring.

you are so talented!!

Thank you. :goodvibes

Seriously Glynis, STOP CATCHING UP and post your own news already! :rotfl:

Holy cow, that is wonderful!

I'm glad someone called her out!!!

Thanks.

Well, first things first.

It's a boy!!!!

How absolutely wonderful! I'm so happy that Peanut seems just fine.

Yup! I'm excited! And because the high risk doctor ordered it, insurance has to cover it!!!! Another bonus!!!!!

After the ultrasound, we took the kids to build a bear, and they chose the cutest bear. He's white with blue spots of fur. They each got to help stuff him, and wish on a heart, and put it in the bear. They each took a turn fluffing him and brushing him, and Alan and I chose an outfit. I'll take a picture of it, as I think it's really cute! We did the "certificate" and it shows that Peanut was stuffed with love by Katie, Jacob, Leslie, Mary, Mommy and Daddy!

Alan was so giddy at that point, that he splurged and took us all out to lunch and then to Krispy Kreme for a dozen donuts! Then, it was back to Walmart (this time with lots of people keeping a hand on me at all times) to pick up some high protein snacks for me to keep on hand! What a family I have.

Jacob told me at one point, that he didn't want to let me out of his sight. He would be my protector at the store. I almost laughed as the picture of him trying to catch me during a faint just about did me in. But he was so serious!

Emma just got that bear and it's adorable. Sounds like a fun family day.

There you have it, folks, Peanut's first photo op!

Look how handsome he is already.

so what does everyone have planned this weekend

Birthday parties, 1st at 1pm and the 2nd at 3pm. Then Girls Night out at 7pm. Eric and the girls are going to watch the Hannah Montana concert. Isn't he lucky?!?!

the DDA is better than family...there I said it again...and I meant it again:goodvibes

Thank you all for the love and comments, I appreciate them.

as for my weekend, I get to go to a job thing for my work with Jim tonight...like I don't have enough stress:confused3 and I have a horrible set of teeth but have been putting off going to the dentist for sheer terror of them but I can't put it off any longer...I had another tooth splinter and it's near the front of my mouth so I am sure it looks espescially appealing. So I am going to try and get in tomorrow to get that fixed.

Theresa, just remember we are here for you. I hope the work function goes better than you anticipate and that the trip to the dentist isn't so bad either.

I took Princess to Momboss at 4 PM, then we went to get DS a haircut. The lady who cut it last time is on vacation until after we leave, so another lady cut it. She got it a bit too short, so I am glad we have a week for it to grow out!

I hope that next week flies by with out a lot unpleasantess.

Continued :wizard: that your sister is all better soon!

Thanks.

Love the pictures!

Sending PD and prayers! How is Emma feeling?

Darling! Thanks for sharing.

We got in last night around 10:15 from our game. They won in a playoff. Today's game was at 9 a.m. That was a quick turn-around for having to drive so far. We lost this morning. I was sweating like a pig at 11. I took the boys to work with me (they begged to go to the waterpark with a lot of the rest of the team) and now we're at the hotel relaxing. The game in the morning is at 8 a.m. We're playing for third place in our bracket (there are 4 brackets since there are 60 teams).

Sending a huge hug and lots of PD to everyone who needs it.

Have a great weekend!

Marci

She isn't complaining that it hurts any longer. And she's been sleeping all night. Thanks for asking.

Please try and stay cool. :wizard: for the tournaments.

Wow, impressive!!!

Thanks.

Yes you are Robyn!

Thanks.

We got documents today. :cool1: Now I am panicking.

OK, so now it appears we are doing Disneyland 2 days. But am not entirely sure. The reason we might now be doing two days, is Charlie's 5 year old son. Heard that we are going one day and he said he has never been and wants to go. :goodvibes So there will be about 8 of us on Friday and then there will be 12 of us on Saturday. None of them have been to Disneyland for a few years. Age range is 5 to 70 ish. It shall be interesting.

Does anyone have any favorites at Disneyland for boys around age 5? I have never met him, so I really do not know anything about him.

I have to decide if I want a tiara and gloves for the Grown up princess night. I think I have enough clothing and most other things I need. In three weeks I will already be in CA.

Night everyone. I hope you have a great weekend.

Yay for documents and for 2 days in Disneyland!

I know I missed a lot of you while trying to rush through the posts so here is a bucket of :wizard: & for all!

I need to get our overnight bags packed & get a couple of other things done before bed. Hope you all have a great weekend. I am taking my laptop so I will check in when I can.

Night all!

I know I missed you but :wizard: for Riley's game and the drive.

What a pleasure, I'm glad you could make it back! :)

We're doing well. They have feeding issues, and Elise apparently has a cold now (random, in the summer).... but we're having a great time! Thanks for asking!

Jennifer, I am sorry that the girls are struggling with feeding and reflux. I hope Elise feels better soon.

Thank you!! That seems to be where most women lose the weight first. Yay for a new wardrobe.
