Gary has to work Saturday, so he will not be going to the games this weekend. I am really bummed because I was not looking forward to the drive. They just reopened some of the roads from the flooding, but they are now filled with gravel. I am hearing from those that have traveled on it, that it is single lane & the water is on the edge on both sides.
Riley made me feel like a horrible person yesterday when I mentioned not going & him riding with others. I have this phobia about driving in unfamiliar places, but I will suck it up & go. I really would feel bad not seeing him play. So I will cancel Friday nights hotel reservation & we will just stay Saturday night. I really do hope the roads are better than I am hearing & pray for no rain!
Tammi- I am so relieved that your mammo came back fine.
Janet-for a safe and easy drive for you this weekend. I am sorry work is exploding around you right before vacation.
Theresa-for the interview.
I know I read more but my brain is all muddy. Emma went back to the doctors yesterday. The first infection is gone but she now has swimmer's ear from all the excess fluid. She has been up the past few nights crying in pain which then wakes up Molly and it's been a circus trying to get them back to bed.
And then all the daycare kiddos are back from vacation. Yesterday we had numerous tears and lots of attitude that I am so not in the mood for.I am so hoping today is better.
There isn't much else going on that's too exciting. I have to make a Little Einsteins Rocket cake and cupcakes for my girlfriend's daughter's birthday party Saturday. We also have our Godson's party Saturday as well. Sunday we were planning on taking the girls to the beach but I am thinking that we will have to put that off with Emma's ear. We may head to DC with just Emma and spend the day there.
I am going to sign off and make up some icing. Have a great day.
That's my dog's name! One of the actors on my soap just named his baby boy Peanut. I think it's a great nickname but as for an actual name I think it's kind of out there. I just hope Glynis and Alan are much more level headed in naming their Peanut!!![]()
What a nice pick-me-upper, Elin. Thanks!OK, all you moms who are having guilt over having to work and juggle your family life... You are doing a GREAT job!(I am no better Mom than any one of you and I managed to do it, and my kids turned out pretty well.
)
There is no guilt allowed in raising your kids and working at the same time. I always looked at that situation as kind of a way to earn a Medal of Honor. There is no higher reward than contributing to that family and you are all doing double duty. If you are fortunate enough to have husbands who also do their share at home, you are very lucky women. If you are on your own as far as the home front, you are positively amazing!
ETA: Tom and Chris... just insert "Dad" or "wives" and/or "men" in the appropriate location of the above post ...

I personally never got into the peanut, bean, etc nicknames while pregnant ... but certainly they are cute, and much better than if they were actual names! Although, we've all heard worse, I'm sure!

So it seems my Disney nightmares have stopped, but now I am having nightmares about the DDA kids!
The night before last night I dreamed I was at Bernadette's. Emma threw up on the rug, so I asked Lizzy (whose name was Anna in the dream) to go get me something to clean it up with. She brought me paper towels and Windex. Bernadette was in the kitchen making dinner, so I went to see if she had any carpet cleaner. I needed to hurry, because I had sent Princess home with some friend of mine that my bosses had never met. I was hoping to get back to the house before they came home so they wouldn't know I had been gone all afternoon. It was VERY strange!
Last night I had a dream about Deb's boys! I was babysitting. I got REALLY involved in some movie and I forgot to put them to bed. When I finally looked over, all 3 were asleep in their chairs. I grabbed Colby and took him back to his room. He was a baby, not a kid. As I was putting him in the crib his foot got all tangled in the mobile. (I was untangling a cat toy before bed last night, so there must be some connection there.) I had to hold him with one arm and try to untangle his foot with the other, and all the while I was worried that Deb and Chris would come in and find Hunter and Nick asleep in their chairs.![]()
But at least I'm not dreaming about forgetting my pins!![]()
I forgot to add this to my "Kudos to Moms" post...
I was fortunate enough to be a SAHM for 10 years, so I know of what I speak. It is hard being a Mom (or Dad). period.
Anytime you read about something spectacular that someone has done in their life, you have to figure there was a parental figure there somewhere who guided that person. How lucky are we all to touch the lives of little ones, whether as a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle or friend.![]()
I promise! Although, we are stopping at Build A Bear Workshop tomorrow after the ultrasound to make a bear to put in the baby's room. We decided we'd name the bear Peanut.
Right now, we have the names narrowed down to:
#1 for a boy: Timothy Locke
#2 for a boy: Alan Timothy
#1 for a girl: Isabelle Grace
#2 for a girl: Devyn Elizabeth
