DDA Chapter 10

Well, well, well.... Kristin suggested I call Disney Dining just to see what was available. I got every one of my ADRs within a 10 minute time of when I wanted them! :woohoo:

I have been reading how there is nothing available for Christmas at all anywhere. :confused3

How lucky was that? Yay for ADRs!!

DH and I went to Busch Gardens in Tampa YEARS ago when we were in town for a wedding. We had fun, but like I said, it was a long time ago. (Before we had DS.)

DH and I are mostly packed. I haven't started on DS's stuff yet. It looks like we'll be able to just do 4 checked bags instead of 5. I know we did 5 last year, but I think DH had his stuff divided across 2 bags.

Elin - I'm glad you got all of your ADRs! Oh, and guess what I'm drinking. ;)

So Bob and I talked tonight. We are working out our 'misunderstanding.'

I'm trying to get organized for going back to work tomorrow. Blech.

Tammi - Yay for talking things out with Bob! Boo for going back to work! I only have 9 working days left, but I bet they will drag.

My back is really not good. I must have lifted or reached or something too much today. :sad2:

I got an email from my brother who lives in Japan. He is trying to get a job in Tampa. He'd be there early next year. That would be cool.

That would be fantastic, Vicki!

Things here are great today. No dizziness, no icky feeling, nada! Alan left the a/c on all night long, so I never overheated during the night. I woke up feeling great, and he's been right by my side making sure that I have water and some kind of protein (cheese sticks, peanut butter, etc.). What a guy! I think he's really excited because he actually felt Peanut kick last night. He was so thrilled! It makes it more real for him.

We also preordered a Wii bundle from Gamestop. It comes with the Wii Play, the Sports and Mario Galaxy. 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks, and a recharging/docking station. It was a pretty good buy at 349.00, so now we just need to find the Wii Fit and Christmas is done! At least the Santa stuff.

I'm so glad you are doing well today, and am very impressed that peanut can be felt outside so early! I hope that means you have a strong little boy in there ;)

Speaking of Wii... Kristin and I will be setting up the Wii Fit and playing Mario Kart after dinner. Have I mentioned how glad I am to have her back home? ;)

Have fun! Our Wii fit comes tomorrow, but Kyle has to work on a lecture before I will let him set it up :teeth:

when I first set up the wii fit...I had a terrible time doing some of the fitness activities...and hour into it...I finally figure out that I had the thing set up backwards on the floor :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:geez!!

We have chosen a few ADRs I would like to have AKL IPO make for us for December. I hope that they have better luck than I think I would have at this late date.

  • Bob and I would like to eat at Le Cellier one of the first days we are there alone. It can be a lunch or dinner time ADR. We are not picky.
  • We want a late night Cape May Cafe ADR for Christmas Eve. That way the girls can arrive "whenever"
  • Christmas Morning at Boma... anytime after 10:00
  • Christmas Dinner at Jiko... anytime after 6:00
  • 12/26 dinner at Yachtsman... anytime

That shouldn't be too much to ask for for a 6 day trip, I hope.

I'm so glad you got what you wanted! It will be another lovely Christmas trip, I'm sure!

I'm glad you are working out your misunderstanding (though I wasn't caught up enough to know you had one).

Vicki - I hope your DB ends up in Tampa. That's a lot closer for you than Japan!

Elizabeth - take it easy so your back feels better. Watch for a card coming from me for you mom.

Glynis - so glad to hear you are feeling much better.

I just realized I forgot to say that Stephanie and I got to meet Penny (chaoscent) She is such a sweetheart. We met for supper last night and then met again at the Pin Trading event. I even met a former co-worker from when I worked for Bell/Verizon. It was a fun evening. I learned a few good things about pins.

I love this design. I am not sure who created it as it was posted in my trip thread.

Tomorrow it is back to work. Only 19 more normal days of work till my trip, but I have a few weekend days as well.

My back is really not good. I must have lifted or reached or something too much today. :sad2:

Elizabeth, here the weather sometimes gets to me as well as doing too much. I am sitting here alternating ice and heat. I know one thing, I love the mattress set we have, but that sleep number bed was just awesome. That will be the next set I get.

Hope your back gets better soon.

Enjoy the Picpoul!! :goodvibes

I am glad you are working things out with Bob but wish you didn't have to think about working tomorrow.

I bet Penny is nice in person. She seems so on here!

I also forgot to tell you something... I had a dream about you last night. I actually had to come on here and look at the pictures you all posted to make certain that your hair was not, in fact, pink! :scared:

Vicki - :wizard: I hope your brother can return to the US soon! :wizard:

Tammi - Thanks! I will watch for a card!

Glynis - Yay for kicking! :goodvibes I can remember one of the first times DS kicked and made my shirt jump up. It was very cool!

How fun to meet Penny! What did you learn about pins? I like pins, you know. ;)

I don't know how you can stand to ice your back. My orthopedic surgeon says to use ice, but I just can't bring myself to do it. :scared:
I think I have just done way too much bending and reaching and other activities today and now my back is angry.

Our pet sitter just phoned and asked if she can stop by tomorrow evening with a trainee. Our regular sitter is going to be gone some of the days of our trip so she wants us to meet the girl who will be filling in. Which is fine, but things are a wreck! :scared1: Thank goodness the dryer is still working. I have the last load of laundry in the washer now. The new sitter is going to think we are nut jobs for packing 12 days ahead. :sad2: I need to print off some instructions about changing the water in the fish bowl. The cats are self explanatory. Feed them, give them water, change the litter if it is stinky. Easy enough!

I wish Chuck was here. He got one the other day and put something on it. Let me see if I can call him.

Here is something I found online.

http://www.surviveoutdoors.com/reference/beeswasps/index.asp#treatment

And this:

If one is stung, the wound can be treated in the following ways:
Remove the stinger with all haste, in whatever manner is most convenient. If you see a little black dot in the wound, part of the stinger is still present.
Clean the area with soap and water.
Consider applying an antiperspirant to the site. An ingredient called A aluminum chlorohydrate may reduce the effect of bee venom.
Apply cold. Use ice or cool water for 10 to 30 minutes after the sting. This blunts the body's allergic response.
An antihistamine such as Benadryl, taken by mouth, can give some added relief, and help prevent the reaction from spreading.
A shake lotion such as calamine can be helpful. A paste made of baking soda and water can have a similar effect.
Topical hydrocortisone can also provide some symptomatic relief.
Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for systemic pain relief.

I think Chuck used the baking soda and water paste. It was a white paste on his arm afterwards.

Pink??? What brought that on??

I did have some blue sparkly streaks going on yesterday :lmao:
