Once I read this, I had to find the answer...

Ants have six legs. Each leg has two sharp claws at the end that help the ant dig tunnels and climb walls and ceilings without falling.

Personally, I like to envision Mission: Impossible-style suction-cup climbing going on.

DD and I just looked it up and discovered ants can carry 10 to 20 times their body weight! Pretty incredible!

How funny, my 7 year old son just asked that same question yesterday! I told him "we'll have to look it up on the internet" but we didn't get around to it. So now I can tell him what I've learned.

I love ants (as long as they outside the house, and not fire ants). They are amazing.

she comes up with some good ones! The other day it was, 'why do people cut down all the trees and pollute the air? Some day all the air is going to be polluted.' She also asked me what my dreams were for my life. That's just a little too deep for an 8 year old.
