Other than embarrassing her every time we see a character in the parks. ::yes::

Does anyone have an experience with the resorts or restaurants doing anything special on request?

I can't think of a better place to have a b-day, much less turn 16 and I want to make it extra-special and memorable!

How about like the Adventurer's club at Pleasure Island? After a nice dinner. I think it would be a great "grown-up" evening for a teen!

I'm celebrating my birthday 12/11 by having dinner in the castle! Dinner is not a character meal, so less chance of being embarrassed, but what girl doesn't want to feel like a princess? Especially on her birthday. :goodvibes

Well, it really depends on what your daughter is into. I agree that PI could be a great "grown up" treat, and I've heard the Adventurer's club is great (never been). Maybe a dinner at one of the nice restaurants at the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney? If she likes water, maybe one of the recreation type things would appeal to her. I think there is parasailing and boating, among other things. My final idea would be a spa day of sorts. If she's the kind of girl who would like a manicure/facial/etc...

that's what I came up with when I tried to think of what I'd like at 16. I hope you figure something out!

Make sure that you collect the birthday buttons at all the parks. They are available in guest relations. Cast members and guests will wish your DD happy birthday. Sometimes other magical things may happen, but don't count on those. The buttons are great fun!

Definitely make sure that you embarrass your DD at a favorite character meal. I had such a good time at Chef Mickey's on my 40th birthday.

PI is a great idea! We have some old hoppers that still have plus options on them. As many times as I've been to the parks, I've never been to PI.

As for the spa, I think I'd have to boot her off the table and take it over myself. What I'd give for a good massage!

We are planning a meal at the castle, but it's for my seven year old step-daughter, who's never been to Disney before. She'll probably pass out!

Thanks for the ideas! Keep 'em coming!

Have you considered a Around the World at Epcot Segway tour for your older daughter? I think you need to be 16 and with a parent, but it was great fun!!! And a totally cool experience to be zipping around World Showcase before it even opens!

Be sure to get a button and if there is any ride she really really wants you can ask a CM for a birthday ride and usually they will give you a fastpass now before I get flamed we have only done this twice and only when it was the only thing my son wanted for his birthday.

Does she have her license yet? I would take her to the Indy race cars and make a big deal out of the fact that she is an official driver now. Surly they will do something really special out of that.

Also depending on the what your DD is interested in, there can be a ton of things to do. Horseback riding? Special meal at Victoria and Alberts? List could go on and on and on and on, you get the point, I hope you find something really special for her!

If it were me, I'd go to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. Not only is it a great show, but they put the spotlight on the birthday folks, literally.

During the Parades get the nearest CM and let them know they will pull her out in the street and get everyone to sing HAPPY B_DAY to her. That will turn her RED for sure

Boy is this right up my alley! She's expecting this kind of stuff, because I've been giving her such a hard time about it.

My ex-DH's name is Dale and when we went to Chef Mickeys one year, I made a point to tell "Dale" that my ex-DH's name was Dale. That worked really well for some good old fashioned embarrassment!

I'll also make sure to get her a pin... if I can get her to keep it on.

She's not driving yet ( ), so the race track is out. Some of the other suggestions were great though!

Thanks guys! You've already given me some great ideas!

What about dinner at the California Grill timed to coincide with the MK fireworks?

We're celebrating my niece's Sweet 16 at WDW next December. Among other things, on the night of her birthday we're having a special dinner at Narcosee's at the GF in formal wear and then surprising her with a Wishes Birthday Cruise.

My DD turned 16 at WDW. We did Chef Mickeys for breakfast all of us had a great time everyone sang happy birthday and she decorated a cupcake which they put a candle in. We then got the birthday buttons in the parks everyone wished her a happy birthday all day. We then went to Cape May clambake the CMs there had her stand on a chair and all of the restaurant sang to her then we did an illuminations cruise as we sat waiting for the show the boat driver announced to everyone on the bridge and the other boats that it was Shannons 16th birthday and everyone sang again. It was a day she will never forget. I'm sure your daughter will feel the same way.

we're celebrating my BIL's 30th bday on 12/3, our arrival day and all week! We have a dinner planned at California Grill, timed so that we have dessert just as WISHES is going off. Should be a great night! We'll be making him wear his birthday buttons all week. We'll also have some surprises in the room for him as well.

My DD17 had a massage done at AKL, and this year they want to do the surf lesson at Typhoon Lagoon, and my boys who are SCUBA certified will be diving at the Living Seas. They also have a dolphin program if she's into that or a non-certified dive thing with air hoses or something. BTW DD LOVED the massage and then we loved touring the AKL.
