My DD will turn 3 during our trip. We'll arrive May 20, her Bday is May 23 and we leave May 26. So do I not buy her a ticket since she's not 3. Buy a 3 day ticket for after her birthday, or buy her a ticket for every day of our trip? I wasn't sure what to do. I don't mind buying the park hopper for 1/2 the stay or the full stay, I just wasn't sure if anyone else has had this problem. Not trying to start any moral debate, just get an answer of how to handle this. And if I do the dining plan, I have to buy her tickets for the full time if I buy mine, DH and DD(6) for 6 days, right? Unless, I book the package with resort, dining and 1 day tickets and then purchase the other days seperately. My DH says just don't buy her aone at all and say she's 2,and it would save alot of money, but if she's 3 and rules say she has to have a pass at 3 then rules are rules and it's not right to try to "get around it.".Help!! What should I do? :confused3

my DD turned 3 during our trip last year - they told me that they consider the age of your child when you arrive at Disney - the official age of the child

on her birthday - and a couple of days later - both of our waiters charged us for her - I told them that I had been told since she was 2 when we arrived - that we would not be charged for her - they both apologized and fixed the bill -

We just returned from a trip where DS turned 3 a few days before leaving, and were on the dining plan. We didn't lie about his age to anyone, but every cast member that we spoke with told us that since he was 2 at the beginning of the trip, Disney considers him 2 for the entire trip. One server didn't know this rule, but I explained that Disney Dining had told me that, and the end result was that we didn't have to pay for his meal (buffet).

Thank ya'll so much for all your answers and even experiences. I feel much better now knowing that's it OK if I dont buy her tix and have to pay for her meals. It'll save enough money that we can consider staying in a moderate instead of a value resort since the difference was almost exactly the amount of her admission and food!! Now I just have to tell DH he was actually right  and that's something that I don't do very often. Now, I have more planning to do. POFQ, CBR.......
