DD Plan...Too much food?

We just returned from a wonderful stay at BWV...We ate at fantastic restaurants, and loved every minute of it.

I did notice table service restaurants were more crowded than usual, but by no means anything to be concerned about at all if you have made ADR's.

My question is about the DP...It seemed that alot of people were taking advantage of the promotion, but at what expense? If the portions are the same as we received not being on the plan, how could anyone eat this much at one sitting? Ordering an appetizer, entree' and dessert per person seems to be far too much. I can't imagine eating like this and then being able to do anything afterwards. Our society is getting more and more out of shape, and Americans are now the fattest people in the world! (Health Educator here :teacher: )

How is the plan working out for you, and can you use one days credit between two people? :)

It was not too much food for us, but we only had TS with a server twice. Our other TS meals we did buffet breakfast, skipped lunch and used our snack credits and had CS dinner. We did this every other day. The sit down TS meals were a bit much, but it worked out great for us since DH and DS are both 6'2 with big appetites, so they ate most of mine and DD's extras. :sunny:

The plan worked for us just fine.

You know I am aware that America has an obesity problem, but I don't think a few days or even a week at Disney is going to contribute to it or prevent it.

If one does not want to get the DDP, then simply don't. Also when a guest goes to buffets they don't eat everything on the buffet, yet all of it is paid for. Same with cruise lines.

Simply order what you want, eat what you want and don't worry about what anyone else does.

I know that when I go to a buffet, I generally eat to much and then ultimately pay the price. This is why I try to avoid large amounts of food. I am pretty healthy, I exercise daily, maintain my weight, eat mostly whole foods, but it seems like when there is a lot of food available such as on a buffet or dining plan, that I will overeat. I don't know what creates this mentality, but I am sure I am not alone.

Of course, I don't believe a week of Disney is a factor in the nations health crisis, but the amount of food and the way it is marketed in this country (super size it) is what concerns me. :)

Regardless of how much food is offered, whether it is buffet or otherwise, each individual is in control of how much they eat. I don't think we can expect restaurants to be in control of our appetites.

As to the DDP, we almost always had salad or soup for our appetizers, some entrees are simply meat or meat and one vegetable such as stir fry, and many times our dessert was fruit or sorbet. So one can have the DDP and still eat a non glutton meal.
