She's very excited - heck, I'M very excited for her - how cool to be in Disney for 4 months! :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Congrats to her - my daughter started in the fall and has extended through the spring.

What role is your daughter working in?

Liz

Congrats to her! I have done the CP myself. What is she doing in FL?

She extended? That's great!

Full service food and beverage - restaurant slave - but she's really happy about it just the same. In fact, she's pretty giddy - I think the Disney gene finally came out!:cool1:

YAY - congratulations to your daughter!! You must be very proud of her! :cheer2:

That's awsome! I think doing Full Service Food and Beverage would be fun. I would absolutely love to work in either CRT or LTT (any of the character meals actually).

Tell your daughter Congrats! I'll be down there on January 7th to begin my second program. One of my roommates on my first program was in Full Service and she loved every minute of it.

Thanks all - I really wonder what restaurant she'll be in. What would be really funny is if they put her in the Liberty Tree, as she has an odd history in there.

Last trip, when they did the "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, The So & So Family is now being seated" shpiel, DD got off the bench to be seated and fell flat on her face in the middle of the lobby. She didn't get hurt, but she sure did create a scene. LOL. I think that job would be perfect for her.;)

Her boyfriend also got in the Spring program, but he's going earlier than her, I think by 2 weeks. He's going to be lifeguarding.

yay congrats to DD!!! I'm moving in on the 7th and I'm working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, I can't wait!!!!! I had friends in college that did it in 2005 and LOVED it, so I'm psyched!

Now, all I need to do is figure out when I should go down for a visit. DH is resisting my efforts, saying we can't afford it, but I will FIND the money from somewhere.;) Do families of CP participants get any discounts on resorts?:confused3 ;)

Yes - cast members generally get a 40% discount on resorts. During the holidays, they could get as much as 65% off resort room reservations (block-out dates apply).

Plus, your daughter would get 6 maingate passes for family and friends during the program would which get up to 3 people in for free per day. She has to accompany her guests in the park, however.

So yes, a Disney vacation can be affordable. :) Just have to do lots of planning!

we just went to WDW in May and spent a TON of money on the trip bc it was my college graduation trip. At the time I did not know that I would be doing the program in the spring. This will be my first time away from home for more than 2 hrs so my parents are coming in Feb. I told them we did not have to go to the parks but they are going to use the free park passes, the resort discount, free magical express from the airport, and are getting the DDP to save money on meals (my brother eats what we dont lol). As of right now we're staying at a Value resort bc they paid over 300 a nite at WL in May so they want to save $$$ since we were just there not even a year ago.

Thanks for the info - if there's one thing I know I CAN do, it's plan a WDW vacation.:thumbsup2
