DD has to dress like a farmer for school - help

DD3 is in preschool and has to dress like a farmer on Thursday. I don't know what she should wear, or if she even has anything to wear! Any suggestions? Thanks.

Noone that I know of wears "overalls" anymore.

straw hat or baseball hat with farm logo on it (John Deere, Co-Op)
Maybe a smudge of dirt on her face
Does she have long hair? Braid(s) in her hair would be cute.
Handkerchief around her neck.
She could put an ear of corn in her pocket or carry a stuffed cow

LOL - yep!

I would have her wear jeans, a white t-shirt, put her hair in pig tails with ribbons, and have her wear a bandanna as a belt or around her neck.

My Dad is a farmer, he doesn't wear flannel or bandannas or steel toed boots, no corn cob pipes or straw hats either. No overalls, and isn't dirty.

He wears jeans, a belt, and a t-shirt, older ones if he is working outside. He does always wear a baseball cap, and sometimes it is John Deere or something, but lots of times it is just plain. He wears plain old hiking type boots.

I actually described what my 2 uncles wore before they retired and my FIL is still farming. He wears steel-toed boots so if a several 100 lb. sow steps on his foot it won't get broken. I only mentioned the seed caps because they get 'em for free.

I almost thought that the OP was joking until I realized not everybody passes fields of cows just to get to their parents' house! My parents live on 70 acres and one of my dad's friends is a real life farmer with over 1000 acres. He does sometimes wear overalls, flannel shirts, and steel toes boots. When my daughter had to dress up as a farmer we went with the cute country girl look. She wore a red and white check shirt with blue jeans with a red bandanna as a belt. Her hair was in pig tails with red ribbons.

I was thinking of my Grandpa who is (was) a farmer. He wears coveralls, but I didn't think you would have some of those. Or any Wrangler jeans.

The farmers around me (lots and lots of them, live in a rual area) do wear a lot of overalls (especially the older ones), flannel, steel toed boots (usually really rough-looking leather boots), jeans (wrangler seems to be popular, lol), t-shirts, and they all wear hats of some sort. The woman will frequently wear straw hats because they don't want the sun to burn their face, ears, and neck while leaving their foreheads a dozen shades lighter, lol, the guys don't seem to care although my dh has been known to put a bandana on his head and then put his cap on over it, depending on what he's doing.
But I would dress my dd in jeans, white shirt, and bandana belt because it's cuter and it fits in with the farmer look.

Well, we live in a rural community and the farmers wear jeans and t-shirts while working in the fields. Most of them wear seed company hats, too (or some kind of baseball style hat). They all wear work boots of some kind in the field. When they aren't working, they usually have some pretty nice designer clothing on (the farmers around here are FAR from poor).

I'll trade you the farmer for what DS has ahead of him...over the next 10 school days, each decade, starting with 1900. What the heck is a 10 boy going to dress like for 1900, 1910,1920, etc? Untill the 50's we're pretty much sunk.
