DD was called for an interview for summer employment at WDW! WooHoo!

I know it's a long shot, but she's so excited! The woman asked her a couple of questions and said that DD's answers were great!
Her interview is in Toronto on March 6. Here's hoping she knocks their socks off!

That's great. What job is she applying for? Let us know how she does!!!

She'd be happy picking up Disney garbage! Not sure at this point what she would be qualified to do, but I'm tellin ya, she'd make an amazing CM! :Pinkbounc

Good Luck with everything and keep us posted on how she does!
Sending some Pixie Dust for luck! pixiedust:

Bonnie40, thats great! DS worked at WDW 2 years ago and DD is working there now. She will be there until August. Let me know how things go and maybe they can meet up sometime. Your DD will love it, hard work, but she will love being there. At least that's what my kids say. Good luck to your DD and I know she will be great! Here's more pixie dust for her. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Good luck to your daughter with her interview. The people from Cast-a-Way are great.

My DD is leaving on June 10, just waiting for the go ahead to get the airfare and she'll be there 2.5 months. My DH and I are now planning a visit half-way thru in August, woohoo!

PS DD didn't know ahead of time but they do offer Attractions as a choice (other than Quick Food & Beverage, Merchandising and Custodial)

madge62...that's awesome for your daughter! We're trying not to put the cart before the horse here.

Thanks for all the pixie dust! :goodvibes

My DD also has an Interview March 6th here in Toronto.

This is for the College program too..is that the same thing?? Some classes and some working?

She is so eager to do this...but hesitant at the same...she will have completed her third year of University and I told her if she doesn't at least go for it now, she never will!!

Good Luck to your DD! :thumbsup2

She's applying for summer employment - May 1 through Aug 31 - then she's back at university in the fall. I didn't know that they offered the college program to canadian students. Will your daughter be going to university/college while she is working at WDW?

It's her understanding that they are allowing Canadian's now...they came to Queen's (where DD attends) and recruited big time on that premise, but it is only summer attendance and yes, she is going back to University this September. My understanding is that there is so much classroom and so much working hours?

The pay is what has her hesitating as she wants to go to Europe and work upon graduating and feels she'll want more money behind her to supplement that endeavour but as I mentioned before, it really is the time now to have fun and do the things you've always dreamed of doing.....the rest will fall into place...

Wow it's amazing! That's my one and only dream. I could help but notice that you are from Guelph?

Congrats and much pixie dust for your DD!

The summer employment program for Canadians would count as the International College Program. So yes, she does have to take some Disney-fied courses while she's down there.

I'm also waiting for a call from Cast-a-way. The wait is killing me! :sad2:

They're a hiring agency for many of the cruise lines, including DCL, and WDW here in Canada. They do the initial phone interviews, set up the interview/presentations for Disney and assist the CMs from Disney. Then they facilitate the visas. At least this is what they've been doing so far! Eric is really nice, told my DH and I to sit it on the presentation, even tho we were the only parents there. Helped answer a lot of questions for us about what goes on and for a Disney nut like myself, only fed my obsession! They ask trivia questions for prizes (Canada pins) and I even was given one for coming up with an answer after no one else could.
