dd dropped her Nintendo DS Lite

Oh, man. Dd dropped her Nintendo DS Lite today on a cement floor. It was in it's case, but I guess the case isn't very padded. When she turned it on, the top screen is all blurred and basically unusable. Can it be fixed? Has this happened to anyone else? She just got it for Christmas! She is so sad. She cried and cried.

I bought the replacement insurance from Best Buy when we bought it, do you think they will replace it?

well, I am not sure dropping it is covered under the plan, you know? It might just cover "normal usage". (or is that normal usage?)

Of course, the real problem is that Best Buy is sold out of them, and even the website doesn't say when they will have them again.

My son dropped his last week, and it broke into two pieces. He was absolutely devastated. His birthday is this weekend, so I bought him another one.

did you by any chance put it on a Best Buy Credit card ? They will replace for what ever reason. I would call them 1st

You can go to the Nintendo web site. Email them and they will tell how to get it fix. Sending it to them, it takes about 2 - 3 weeks.

If you paid for it with a credit card and didn't buy it way ahead of time, the buyer's protection should also allow you to get it replaced. Most of those plans are good for at least 90 days, sometimes up to a year. Read the fine print on your credit agreement.
