Wow - it's been a while! 2 1/2 months until our trip back to FW! So excited about this trip.....as we'll be celebrating our DD's 6th birthday while we're there. She knows we are going, but doesn't know some of the things we have planned. I already ordered her "brave ears" (her ear hat, which normally I would ONLY allow her to purchase while we're in the parks....I think it's a "right of passage" for being there - and we call them "brave ears" because wearing them makes her brave enough to ride things like ToT, BTMR, etc), which is the birthday ear hat off of Disney's website, and I had her name embroidered on it) and she won't get them until we're there. We have dinner scheduled at the Castle - this will be a BIG deal for her. Now, here's where I struggle....I was born without the part of your brain that allows for creativity. :) I am struggling for other things to do for her to recognize her birthday while we are there. Any recommendations for decorating the camp site? I'll plan to pick her up a birthday button while we're there - can those be picked up at FW, or just in the parks? Any other recommendations for a 6 YO who LOVES all things Disney would be wonderful - as I am so stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff.
TIA!!

We are also celebrating a 6 year birthday (my son) when we go in August. I am interested in hearing some ideas too.
I planned on getting him a hat and a birthday pin. I am going to let him wear the pin the whole 9 days. On his actual birthday we are celebrating at Chef Mickey's and I am going to order a birthday cake. I was thinking of bringing some party hats for the rest of us to wear during dinner.
I didn't think of decorating the campsite. That is a good idea.

Ive celebrated all 3 of my childrens last birthdays at the fort. Make sure you put on your reservation that your celebrating a birthday. At check in each time they received a special birthday picture autographed by mickey,a birthday pin, and the last 2 received a mickey balloon ( first time they were out). Also, make sure your dining reservation knows in advance that your celebrating her birthday some restaurants routinely do special things for birthdays like decorating the table with pixie dust and some offer cards and placemats signed by characters. Examples of these are Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and the meals at 1900 Park Fare. Here is a website to something else special, you can arrange to have her favorite character call on her birthday..disneyenchantedcalls.com Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip and I hope it is a Very Magical one for your birthday girl! :cheer2: We will also be back in September Celebrating my DS 9th birthday he loved it so much:thumbsup2

As a PP mentioned, definitely put it on your reservation. When you check into the Fort, the CM will most likely recognize the birthday right there and you will get a pin for your child to wear. It's amazing how often they get recognized while wearing the pin around the parks or at the Fort.

Beyond that, your dinner in the castle and the trip to Disney overall...I think your daughter will feel pretty special without doing anything else.
