Last Friday we came throught the castle and I saw that no one was around the sword, so I made a big show about pulling it out (to get DD into it) before she tried. Of course, the sword came right out for her when she tried!

Of course, I tried again after she put it back to no avail, and then a mob of people came up and tried to get it out (it looked just like the scene from Excalibur when all the knights tried after Arthur pulled it out).

She didn't get the significance until she saw that no one else could get it out, and then she got predictably full of herself. A few nights later when she saw Fantasmic and Mickey pulled the sword from the stone to fight the dragon she made a big point about how only her and Mickey could do it.

So be forewarned, it's great fun if your DS or DD pulls the sword out, but you might create a monster in the process!

That' great! my kids tried and tired and even tried together with team work. that in itself was worth the picture! but i did not see anyone nearby to see about the magic!

That's so cute!!!!

But there is NO Way that beautiful little girl could turn into a monster;) Just ask me, I have 2 DD's, both are teenagers.

I love the look on YOUR face as she's pulling it out. Parents sure can enjoy the magic too! :goodvibes

Yeah for a magical moment!

I didn't notice any CMs in the area. I'm not sure where it's controlled from, but I guess the fuss I made beforehand got their attention.

So cute!
All hail surferdave's daughter, the Rightwise Ruler Born of England.

Awesome story!! :) I'm so glad your DD got to experience the magic. When we were FOTD and getting our pre-opening tour our driver and another CM had my 6 YO pull up the sword just to see if was " the choosen one to open the MK for that day". The look on his face when he pulled it up and I couldn't was priceless!

It's little touches like these that keeps the magic alive for all ages!

P.S. The magic switch will only be revealed to those who believe and yes there was a plain clothes CM standing nearby with their hand inside their pocket ;)

That's one of the cutest kid things I've heard in a while!!! :wizard:

That is so awesome!! I have never seen anyone pull the sword out before, and that is so great that you were able to get pictures!! :-)

I really just loved this topic because my sister's name is Ava and she would loveeeeee to pull the sword from the stone :)

That's so cute!! Neither of my boys have been able to pull out the sword, so I guess they aren't the Rightwise Ruler Born of England. :rotfl:

Totally off topic, but I LOVE your signature - the Direct TV commercial with the giraffe! Have you seen the new one where the giraffe is on a treadmill? It's too funny! I want a tiny giraffe!

Okay -- back to DISing.

Finally, proof that the sword really comes out! We just need Ava to pull it out on our next trip, so we can see it in person. I have never seen anyone pull it out in all my years to Disney. That is quite a treat for her and even more so, since she has a picture to prove it.
