Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

Maybe now that demand has finally abated they can put a stop to their plans to stop starting Halloween in February, lol.

But has it? They sold out 19 events in three weeks, with most of the dates priced around $200. Two years ago, there were 25 events. If there weren’t six extra events, i wouldn’t be surprised if OBB would be entirely sold out by now (since as fewer dates are available for sale, FOMO kicks in).

They’re also selling more tickets. In 2019, most everything was a walk on whereas last year it felt like a typical day at DCA.

Don’t be shocked next year when we get two dates closer to February.

They added 3 additional dates in August and only on the first night is sold out the 2 additional dates in August are still available. Sunday August 31 on Labor Day weekend is sold - heavy travel weekend.

Demand is softening. Will it all sell out? Probably maybe 95% of the dates.

I dont even follow this that closely but I predict it will all sell out. Possibly last minute but it will all sell. August is a bit early for Halloween for my taste but it works well in WDW maybe they think it will work well at DLR too

I would love this to Push Disney to do more

At least 3 new Villains every year, WOC to come back and maybe a show in Philharemagic

Just more, its a fun event but its soooo much compared to HHN or scary farm at knotts

Same, we decided we will skip next year unless they implement many more different things. We dont want candy so it's not about trick r treating for us. It's about the event characters and entertainment. I understand that we are the minority and many do go for the candy

Disney probably views 19 sell outs in three weeks as a big win. Only 2 of 37 MNSSHP dates have sold out.

Of the 12 OBB dates available for sale, the 3 remaining Sundays, 2 October dates (one of which is the 28th) and 2 August dates available for $139 are all but guaranteed to sell out. Of the remaining 5 dates, four are on a Thursday - the other is on a Tuesday late in September.

Most likely every date will sell out but if they don’t I’d be surprised if there were more than 2 that didn’t.

Given that most people attending OBB have Magic Keys, where in contrast most people attending MNSSHP are using it as a visit to the MK…. I think Disney is pretty happen.

The thought of wearing a costume in Florida 🥵

We’ve gone to only August and early September dates. Few people wear costumes (we never do), I always thought it was because it’s too early to pack one but you might be onto something! Was drenched in sweat last August despite having light clothing… damn am I happy to live in SoCal lol.

All the WDW Resort hotels sell the tickets when guests check in and tickets are sold that way. It is also sold as an add-on.

It always blows my mind when people are excited about the candy. For that much money, I could get actual good candy and a lot of it somewhere else. I do participate in the trick or treating and I reuse the candy at Halloween. 😛 Or, it goes out for snacks for delivery people on my porch.

Same I use it for Halloween or if we are flying we gift it before we leave. We only do treat trails to see characters.

At the MNSSHP, it’s pretty easy to get multiple bags of candy - like $30 or more’s worth per person. Go in August when it’s $119 and it makes for a great value to see the MK, especially if you live in a neighborhood with many trick-or-treaters.

OBB it’s much more difficult to get as many treats. Not to mention we have “healthy” snacks here that WDW doesn’t and no kid wants on Halloween. Passing out bags of carrot sticks puts you below the local dentist who is exhausting his stash of free toothpaste samples. When I was a kid, we would’ve egged the house lol.

Honestly, I can't believe the candy is an attraction, but there are always posts of photos showing "look how much candy I got!" Do you realize you could buy a whole shopping cart full of candy at Costco for $169?

I know it's gonna be a one-and-done for me...and if I collect any treats, I will find some sweet little kid to give it to on the way out...or give it to the CCI housekeepers like I do my dessert party boxes. We haven't had trick or treaters in over 20 years, it's gone the way of garage sales in our neighborhood.

Some little kid will be very happy :)

I could very well be remembering wrong but I did a quick search for last year and it looked like the large majority were sold out within the first few hours. One day later there was only 6 days available.

And in that same thread people were saying the year (2023) before that the everything was sold out within 4 hours

You’re right that they are offering more and more dates so maybe that is all I am seeing but there is a definite vibe that maybe some of the demand is waning for this party (and maybe DL in general?).
