Hi everyone! I'm a long time lurker and rare poster on the DIS and just wanted to say hi to everyone! Who else is doing the DCP this Fall or Fall Advantage? My name is Hannah, I'm 21, I arrive May 18 and am in attractions, and I absolutely can't wait!

Hi Hannah! I am Terri, I arrive on May 26 and my role is transportation. I am very excited!!!

Hi Terri....once you get there maybe you can post some more insight for Transportation please. Seems like one of the smaller groups, with a larger portion doing FA. Fingers crossed for a boat location. She did ask for it. Maybe it will give her a leg up over anyone who didn't ask for it. Wishing on stars........

My DD, Alli -age 20 will be there June 8th.

I will post all the information on that as I can, it has been very frustrating to find almost nothing about it! I am also hoping for watercraft. The information I have found says watercraft and bus greeter are all that fall under transportation. Hopefully that information is wrong. I have noticed there are very few cast members chosen for that role. I hope Alli has a wonderful experience! My son did the program last year as merch and will be doing the summer program as an alumni doing QSFB.

The odd thing is that I have rarely seen a bus greeter at the resorts or DTD. I've seen a few at the parks. So I wonder about this position. It does seem that one could be assigned to a platform for the monorail. I think that would be more interesting than a bus greeter. Although Alli is hoping for a boat, she says she doesn't care if she ends up as a greeter. I would think it would be very boring. And doing it for 7 months would drive me nuts.

I will be there a week after. I can't wait to start.

Hey everyone, I'm Mike. I am in transportation and arrive May 26th.
Hi Mike! Looks like we have the same role and arrival date! Do you know anything at all about the transportation role? I haven't been able to find very much about it at all.

My name is Christina. I am also a lurker lol. I am participating in the Fall Advantage program. My arrival date is June 8th and my role is Merchandise! I am 22 and a Spring 2013 Quick-Service Food & Beverage alumni. I am graduating this May, so I'm making this move a permanent one. I'm so excited to return!

Hey guys and gals!

My name is Patrick and I am 27 (feeling pretty old right about now compared to the "normal" college student"). I have accepted a role working merchandise for the fall program. Im not an alumni, but my long-term girlfriend did the program and remained seasonal with the company, so she has really driven me to try it out. I really cannot wait to start, though I feel I'm probably not the traditional CP as far as averages go. Just a little background on my struggle, lol. I'm 27, have a five year old son, and own my own home. I am just graduating college with my marketing degree and am changing careers. I have no clue what I'm doing or where I'm going, lmao. So off to disney we go!

Hi Patrick! I am not the traditional CP'er either, I am 41, married and have college aged children, my oldest did the CP last year and loved it. I love Disney, so when I decided to go back to school, I knew the CP was something I was going to shoot for. I can't wait for the experience! I have just started back to school and will only be in my second semester when my program starts in May, but I will graduate in May 2017 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Green and Sustainable Management. I hope you have a great program!!!

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. My girlfriend told me there would be a few of us, but all I seem to be seeing are 19-22 year olds, which is expected.

I think the toughest part for me is leaving my boy behind for a few months. I struggle with it every day since I've accepted the position.

I'm also a business major, in marketing. Hope the program is all you expect it to be, and heck, maybe we will run into each other!

I do not know much about the role other than the description that they gave in the acceptance letter.

I am finally graduating in the beginning of May. I'm 25 so you're not the only "older" person. When is your arrival date?

Yay! I'm technically spring 2015, but I extended through the summer and am going to extend through the fall! I'm in qsfb right now and will be going into transportation come may 17!

I'm also 27 so old peeps unite!

So what can you tell us about transportation? Why did you decide to leave qsfb for transportaion? Looking for details. Thanks.

Also, how clean are the apartments when you move in?

Does anyone know where they are planning on living? I have been thinking about Vista but am still unsure.

All I know about transportation is that it's either bus greeter or water crafts. That's all I've managed to find out. I keep hearing different things about what it is. I decided to leave qsfb because I've discovered that I hate working in the kitchen. That's all I've been doing since I started working and I wanted to try something different. When I extended, I was able to pick 5 new roles so I chose same role, new location, transportation, vacation planner, merchandise, and costuming and they picked me for transportation!

There's supposed to be a cleaning team that comes in after each room departs, but I don't know how thorough they are. I moved into a renovated apartment and the bathroom was so gross. I would clean myself in the next apartment I go to.

I still have never seen a bus greeter out of all of the times I have visited Disney. You have been in the program so I will take your word. From what I have looked up it is watercraft, monitoring buses, monorail/bus greeters, and park transportation trams and speakers. I'm not sure if bus/tram greeters are the same. I just remember from my phone interview that I was asked how I would address people getting from the Magic Kingdom parking lot to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Glad to know I'm not the only non-traditional. I'm approaching 26 and have been in school part time for the past 4-5 years, working full-time and continuing my degree in Music Theatre. I was accepted into DCP for this Spring, but turned it down to continue at my current job. Applied again and couldn't say no a second time. I've been hoping to find other non-traditional types without much luck. Also, hoping to find some potential roommates with an August 31st start, but little luck in that department.
