DCP Dining Discount ?

Can anyone currently / previously in the DCP tell me if discounts are available on meal plans? Also, would this be eligible for family staying at DVC resorts on points, and not booking a package, but still wanting to book the dining plan?

Resort discounts vary during the time period, but are usually 40% for Friends/Family, 50% if you are staying in the room.

When it comes to getting the dining plan, the only way you can receive a discount on it is if you book a standard room (Non-DVC). Dining plan discounts are not available year-round, only during special times, which are advertised on the HUB. These reservations have to be called in and cannot be done online.

I called to see about reservations for December and I was told by the CM that if they offer a discount on the dining plan for cm's it is a few $'s off. My original paper with my notes disappeared. It wasn't a great savings but it was a savings. You can call and speak to them and they can somewhat answer your questions. I did end up booking a week and when my DD gets her discounts she will call and revise them and go to the store to purchase our tickets for us. I will save over $500 on the room alone by having her discount. I put my nights deposit on the room and it will be adjusted when she calls. The room went from $236 a night down to $123.00. I can't add her to the ressie then we have to go to a bigger room which I wouldn't be saving anything really. I would love for her to stay with us but I know she will be busy and won't have much time to spend with us.

The meal plan discount is pretty good when it is offered. My DD is doing the CP right now and I just got back from visiting her. She stayed with me so we got the Wilderness Lodge courtyard room for $152/night and the meal plan for $34 per person per night. The meal plan was the standard one. Great deal.

we are in Pleasant Valley, DD is doing mousekeeping fall adv. and the boyfriend is doing merchandise for fall, can't wait to go down, only wish my YDD didn't have marching band the whole fall so we could go down then, we have to settle for early Aug, and possibly again late aug.

The dining discount is really good! This was two and a half years ago (November 2010) so I can't guarantee it, but my parents were able to get 60% off their room and discounted dining when they came to visit me on my last program. They saved a lot and it played a huge factor in them coming to visit!

Does anyone know when they will post dining discounts for August (late). We already have our CM room discount and I know in the past that sometimes they wouldn't post until a few weeks prior to arrival dates for dining discounts.

If they are offered in August, they would post around now, give it a few more weeks. Regular guests can add the Dining Plan up to 72 hours before arrival.
