DCL wedding "reception" ideas?

I'm split on whether to do a DCL or WDW Memories Collection wedding. As I am comparing what each day would look like, what would you do after the DCL onboard wedding, cake reception, and dinner at Palo with 8 adult guests? I wonder if we would end up being bored if there is not much more to do afterwards? Are there any activities or nice lounges that would be entertaining?

As a comparison, the Memories collection plan would be to get married on Luau Beach, have dinner at Ohana, have drinks at the monorail lounges or the beach, and get a Wishes cruise on either a pontoon or the Grand 1 Yacht (depending on if more than the 8 people come). I guess I am looking for if anyone has ideas about how to cap off the wedding day on DCL?

Thanks!

Have you ever been on a Disney cruise would be my first question? Because there is lots to do overall. Palo dinner is pretty special, I don't really imagine people being bored in a cruise or in this specific night? If you are thinking of a wedding group specific thing to do, not sure I have a suggestion. As far as "things to do" depends somewhat on the ship, the time of your dinner and which night of the cruise the wedding falls on. Generally, cruises are food and activity filled and I would imagine that after a wonderful wedding and dinner for 8 many would be quite ready to waddle off to their cabins. Depending on the ship, there are adult venues to have a toast etc.

Thanks! I have not been on a Disney cruise (or any cruise!) which is probably why I am a little concerned. I'm picturing the day being spend the morning at the pool, get my hair done in the afternoon, have the wedding and cake reception at 4:30 or so, and then a dinner at Palo. Afterwords, we could just go to a lounge and have some drinks which would be nice too or check out the night activities. I just wanted to see if there were any other ideas about what people do after to make sure I'm not missing anything :) Palo will seat a group of 8, won't they? I read somewhere they can't put tables together.

I'm still 2 years out so I don't know the ship yet but we are thinking a 4 Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral. We would probably choose whatever ship is cheaper so that will likely be the Magic or the Wonder but if the Dream is all that works for our dates, we would do the Dream. I'm trying to price everything out the best I can now and think about what would be the perfect scenario so that when it comes to booking time, I'm ready!

I think the main ship doing 4 nights out of PC is the Dream. The reason I ask is that there are different venues and things offered on the ships. You might poke around the cruise boards themselves and obviously the DCL bride threads here. On the Dream class ships there are neat champagne bars and you could do Remy as a dinner as well. There are tables to accommodate 8 in either Palo, but reservations can be tight for a large group and first time cruiser. But I would imagine having a wedding celebration would put the odds in your favor. Specific plans would vary according to ship and itinerary though. Have s great cruise!
