We were thinking about taking Royal Caribbean also but my DH is worried that there will be a lot of drinking going on. Our DD's are at the teen level now, where they will ba able to come and go. They are very good kids and know the rules but we are just afraid of what might happen if they are stopped by someone who is out of it! I guess seeing all that news about the newlywed couple is just scary!
Nysie: I actually saw better behaved kids on RCI than I had on Disney, and a lot less drinking by adults also. I was surprised, but our whole family agreed it was a little different crowd. I expected less family oriented, and it was actually more, at least our week. Both are great cruises; just wanted to share that we had no issues on RCI with unruly teens or parents.

It's been a while since we cruised RCI, but I will agree about Disney. It does seem that alot of parents are a little TOO comfortable with not watching their kids on this line. We did not experience any trouble, but some of the kids were a little misbehaved, more so then our past experiences (except for Carnival).
Did you see the Soverign photos, RichnKatHolly? I enjoyed viewing them myself, and I'm not even looking to book right now. The decor looks really nice and fresh, I thought.

Yes, I did check out the pictures. The ship looks brand new. Thanks so much for posting the link. I checked out cruise critic as well. Seems like pretty mixed reviews. I just keep going back and forth. The easiest thing to do is just keep our plans as they are, but boy the new look of the ship and the price diff is very tempting!
When are you planning on sailing again? I remember RCI food to be outstanding, yet several reviews said not so great. What do you think?
so the $4997 grand total includes paying for 5 days at wdw? the rccl is $600+ cheaper AND you get 5 more days of admission for 5 people to wdw?
this is a toughy. i've only been on the dcl, no other cruises, and i loved it, and i can't wait to get on the boat again (just 3 more days!), but i'd have to say go with the rccl and extra wdw tix.
Thanks everyone for all the great advice! You have all been very helpful.
We have decided (for now anyway ) to keep our plans as they are. BUT, if the 3 night RCCL cruise was available during our dates we would have taken it. It's that last full day at sea that I would be sitting there thinking I could be in the parks. I find sea days very boring (well, now that we have kids anyway - before that we used to stay on when everyone else was getting off).
Anyway, if any of you are considering the land/sea with Disney, it is cheaper to purchase from a TA as a package. But you can also fit in a nice cruise on another line, still book a land package with Disney, and save yourself quite a bit of $$ for another trip!!
