Well, I finished my first DCL Album and just finished posting it on my site.

I thought you cruisers might like to take a gander at it since it has TONS of pics from our cruise in January.

Just follow the link below and click on "Scrapbooking" then "Disney Magic Scrapbook"

WARNING: My site takes a bit to load....tons of graphics!

Enjoy

I am truly amazed at the impressive scrapbook that you have put together. What an artist. I wish I had a little of your ability. It looks like you had a great time. I'll be sure to share with my husband and daughter.

Thanks again.

Kathleen :)

OMG!!!! You have so inspired me! What a fantastic album!

I have never tried anything like that before, but I sure want to now after our June cruise!

Where did you get the adorable Mickey stuff?

Thank you so much for posting the link to your album. It looks like you had a wonderful time! You have created a wonderful memory too!

Cass, your scrapbooks are terrific!!! I've thoroughly enjoyed looking through them. Great job!!!!

I am into scrapbooking myself. I am also a Creative Memories consultant so I see alot of scrapbooks. Your is WONDEFUL! I am planning to do one for our Magic cruise as well, I am currently working on my ds's album but that is a continuing project...

I would love to know where you got on the Disney stuff like Lumiere.

P.S (the CM consultant coming out in me) please make sure that everything you use is lignin and acid free as well as buffered to make sure future generation will enjoy your masterpiece!

Naomi

Your scrapbooks look great-- and I love your scrappin' room! I'm a scrapper myself. Now I'm totally motivated to re-organize for better scrapping efficiency!!!

Cass,

Your scrapbook is excellent. First, your website inspired me to create my own page for my 5/11 cruise...now I have something else to experiment with. You are very good at this. Can't wait to see the rest.

Thanks for sharing that with us!! You have done a wonderful job!!

My question is: Is that your handwriting in your journal notes or do you use a wordprocessor/typewriter? It all looked so neat and very readable!! I love suggestions for my upcoming WDW and DCL scrapbooks!!

Thanks again for sharing!!

Becki

My God, your scrapbook pages are AMAZING, to say the least! I started scrapbooking about 6 months ago and am still working on my DD and DS's albums- an ongoing neverending task. Where did you get all your cutouts, etc. and are they acid/lignin-free? And do you print your type directly from your computer? Using a program of sorts? Do reveal your secrets!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - great job! I have been thinking of trying to start a scrapbook for all of my baby's picture but I just don't even know how to start! You did a great job. I can only wish mine would look like that good!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful replies!

The large Disney characters are actually postcards that I bought in Mickeys Mates on the ship. I glued them onto acid & lignin free paper then into the scrapbook.

Lumiere is a printout (on acid & lignin free paper) of clipart I found on the internet.

Most of my lettering is done in Word. I absolutely hate my handwriting and I love the way the printing makes it look so sharp.

For some of my titles I have used letter templates and then just cut them out.

For some of my journaling, I have used CK Creative Lettering. It has journal genies that come in different shapes...like the clam shell and the leaf.

Glad to answer any more questions!

Oh those are great tips! I actually have some large postcards I bought at Disney last year and planned to use them in scrapbooks, but was warned not to (because they obviously are not acid/lignin-free). It never occurred to me that I can adhere them to acid free paper and then place them!

I'm definitively going to have to try out some of your idea's this week. On Saturday, I'm going to an all-day scrapbooking workshop!!!

CASS: I loved your travel-log and cruise photos. Especially the description of the Golden Princess--a milk carton with a spoiler.

We are going on the Oct 26, 2002 Western Caribbean cruise and can hardly wait.

We went on a four day DCL MAGIC cruise in 1999 (the honeymoon we never had. My DH said that the probationary period was up so now we could take a Honeymoon--for our 30th anniversary. He is a nut.)

We also went on the 7 day Eastern Caribbean in 2000. We did Disney excursions and had a nice time.

One of the things that hit me about St. Martin was the poverty. We are so blessed in North America--a whole Caribbean village could live in our house.

I read the cruise report. Others seem to have seen pictures of scrapbook pages. Where would they find that?

JLSE50,

If you go to my site, you will see a graphic that says scrapbooking, click on that, then on the disney magic cruise.

You will then see the scrapbook...hopefully! :)

We would LOVE to do the western itinerary, but with the lousy Canadian dollar, it's just too expensive for us after you add $1300 for airfare!

But the first chance we get, we'll be on it!

Have a great cruise!

Thanks for the info: the scrapbooks are WONDERFUL.
In one of your posts you said:
"For some of my journaling, I have used CK Creative Lettering. It has journal genies that come in different shapes...like the clam shell and the leaf. "
Is CK Creating Lettering a software product? Where are the leaf and shell used?

You commented in the online scrapbook that the cabin was small. We had a Catagory 11--7009 for our first Disney MAGIC cruise and will have it again in October. No windows--easier to sleep in late.
We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise and the cabin was smaller--no couch, only one chair that went to the vanity. The TV was on the same wall as the head of the bed and it was hard to sit on the bed to watch TV even when we moved pillows because there was a space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the pillows slid down. There was no tub, only a shower with a low retaining wall so water got on the bathroom floor, but they must have expected that as there was a drain in the floor. No TV channel from the bridge (our favorite). Disney does it better, even for a small cabin.

Here's hoping that you can manage the next cruise sooner than you suspect.

Cass, that was AMAZING!! I am so in awe of you scrapbooking-types... it's a God-given miracle if I even manage to put photos in an album instead of just a drawer somewhere.

What a great showcase of memories you have made!

JLSE50,

Yes, it is a software program that you can buy for your computer. Here is a link where you may buy it, however, I bought it at my local SB store.

The shell is used on my character breakfast page and the leaf was used on the Midnight Dessert Buffet Page.

Yeah, it took me a little to get used to the size of the cabin, but we quickly adapted and loved our room! It was so incredibly beautiful! I can't imagine staying in something smaller! Leave it to Disney to do it best!

Well, you do with what you have and we have a tiny motorhome so are used to living with less. But that Royal Caribbean cabin seemed cluttered all the time. There were just not enough places to put things. We enjoyed the Category 11 on Disney and when we found out it was available, we took it again. We had a larger one the other time, but feel sure this will be fine for the October cruise. When you are with your best friend, togetherness is fine.

I read parts of your web pages to my husband. I think I have read all your pages today and enjoyed them all. Nice work.

Have a super tomorrow--it is 11:00 here and I am off to the showers.
