OK Todays quiz, this was seen all over Italy in romantic places, often with great views, so what is it?


For the non Romantic viewers the answer is not a load of padlocks!
Florence.

Amalfi

The answer is young love.

When boy and girl get together and want to show their long lasting love for each other, they purchase a padlock, put their names on it, and padlock it to the frame of a fence etc.

They then throw away the key, of the cliff, or into the River to show it will last forever!!

Totally have to agree with your 'take" on Rachel...we LOVE her - she was awesome....can't compare her to Brent though - as we've only had Rachel on both our cruises

Lat 4 cruises had a different CD each time Rachel was far the best so friendly, and she was everywhere, from Topsiders at breakfast to all deck parties, Brent I saw most in the WDT, and I must say his ship announcements always seemed a bit chaotic, Rachael's were clear nd informative.

As soon as the ship was cleared each day she made an announcement and when we missed a port in 2005 she was broadcasting at 8am what was going to happen that day and a alternative navigator and a new port.

Brent I saw twice early morning checking thing thats it.

I love the padlocks and pictures. Thank you for sharing. Just today the family and I were discussing where in Europe we'd want to go and everyone said Italy. Will have to remember to take a padlock with us!! My brother was born in Italy when I was 2, I believe he was born in Florence. Wonder if my parents know of this tradition.
