Thanks! :) Sorry, I don't have any public albums. These photos are excerpts taken from my personal photo albums after going on three Disney Cruises. I'm actually starting to run out of photos so that just might be the end of that! :guilty:

I used a Canon S40 4 megapixel camera that I bought in 2002 for all those pictures. It's been a good, compact camera for travel.
I just bought the SD550 and am LOVING it! Good luck, I am sure you'll take outstanding pictures, no matter which camera you choose. Your pictures are awesome!

Well - not really intending to upstage Tiggerking....

but why wait until November 25th? We have a bit of unreserved cabin space on our October 28th 2006 Halloween sailing to the Eastern Carribean! Why not book on our sailing... you'd have a freash set of images to renew your postings to this wonderful thread. I kno... it's a cheesey excuse - but why not, eh?

OK... now I've exposed myself to someone sailing sooner to extend another invitation... but can anyone else offer the wild additional antics of a DIS Halloween party on their sailing? Or how about a semi-private DIS trick or treat run from DIS cabin to cabin around the ship.... or DIS "my signature" 2nd annual, totally unauthorized "DIS Mickey Ice Cream Bar Speed Eating Contest" ... complete with gold seal embossed award certificates signed by the Captain of the Magic and possibly a Disney Character or two? Oh yeah!!!... and our DIS meet is also working up custom shirts (I already ordered 2 custom sweat shirts and a couple of semi-custom T-shirts for the kids). And we have a few other DIS things cooking... with varying degrees of potential like the 1st unauthorizeed DIS Toga party, or the 1st unauthorized and unlikely Combination DIS Halloween Costume Contest and Conga Line Dance through the the ship.. stem to stern?!

OK... maybe we will have a DIS costume party but we have not not fully finalized that with a volunteer coordinator - nor has the proposal for a conga line of costumed DIS folks been approved. But if it has not been DISapproved then it might still happen!

So..... Canadiancruiser2, why not come out an' sail with us for Halloween???

:thumbsup2

this is my Gson on pirate night. He looked so cute, he received lots of WOW"s.

We were all dressed up & they came to the dinning rooms to take pictures. There was to be a good one of me & hubby pretending he was chocking me :rotfl2: . Well it got lost, the first 30 pictures taken some how got deleted. Five of them were ours. :sad2:. Even the photo taker was up set, he wanted to see hubby chocking me.

This was the temp plate that was used in the dinning rooms. Cause my pictures were deleted they said I could get any picture I had to be put into this temp plate. They did offer to retake the pictures, clothes were already packed. Feel free to use temp plate if you like, just crop out my Gson. Pm me & I'll send you a larger version of temp plate

Hey that's a neat template and great photo of your GS!

dreamcometrue - the Canon Rebel is very nice I hear, but I agree that it's a bit big to lug around. I think the reason that I have so many photos to choose from is that I am able to wear my camera in a bag on my belt. It's easy to pop out, take a snap, and go back in. My SIL has the SD550 or 500 (?), and those are nice compact cameras, but I think they lack a bit in manual settings so you might be sacrificing a bit for the smaller size.

The Canon S series like the S80 is a bit larger than the SD series, and they've packed quite a bit into it feature wise. But like Captain Crash mentioned, the larger cameras usually will beat out the smaller ones in terms of photo quality.

I try to take a moment to compose the picture that I want and frame it in my display before taking it. Sometimes it just takes a few seconds to adjust where you shoot that can make a big difference. The other half of the time, it's snap snap snap and pray. :teeth:

TiggerKing and captaincrash- boy those are tempting offers! I'm gonna have to think real hard about taking some more time off work to join you lucky ducks! :thumbsup2:

Thanks LCTsMom! I'm sure the SD550 will be a great camera for you. It's so small and sleek that it'll be handy to carry around to take some excellent shots! Post some up if you get a chance.

I haven't been able to sit down and look at these pics in a while...they are wonderful. It makes me wish I was there :sad1: perhaps soon!

This is the desk to rebook on deck4. I asked my Gson to sit in the chair I wanted to take his picture. This is what I captured. I just love it, looks like he really is into rebooking. :rotfl:

Does anyone know what this red brick building is? I can't remember the name of it, but it's close to the dock at Key West...

Debbie...

I really like your shot too... it has a surreal quality to it. I'm going to be trying my luck with a shot liek thsi on our next sailing in October 06. Well.. I think I'll check the farmers' Almanac to see what phase of the moon will be prevailing - so I know whether to be egar or forget it. :confused3

Candiancruiser - thanks for posting the picture of the ol' custom home in Key West - Its located on Front and Whitehead Street - this building is well over 125 years old AND when I was a little girl in the late 30's, my mom would have to go there every two weeks to pick up my dad's check since he was a merchant seaman - there is so much history about the custom house - it was renovated not too long ago and Norm and I are still fasnated with it.
Thanks again
Shirley and Norm

Thanks for the information about the custom house! I remember that it was a historic building, but I didn't know much else about it except that it appeared to be very well restored.

She looks sooo peaceful...

I remember the feeling :)

The fog is a nice effect, mine does that every time I take my camera from the air conditioned inside into the heat or humidity outside.
