DCL Party Planning Thread (combined threads)

My guests are having a difficult time responding on my House Party site. I have three who tried to respond YES and all came up as NO. No matter what we do, we can't change it. Is anyone else having a similar problem? I have emailed them twice now. I got a response for the first email, yet we're still having the same problems.

Do you think House Party is tracking our guests for the cruise give-away raffles via that website? If so, my guests won't be counted.

Just got back from our 3-night yesterday, and can't wait to catch up on all the party planning ideas. Keep 'em comin'! arty:

My co-hostess and I have decided on a ladies-only night so we can have it at my house and have enough of the DCL goodies for everyone. I do not think we will play a lot of games, but I do plan to play bingo since I played it on the ship this past trip and had fun. I'd like to use some of the host items as bingo prizes (beach towels, beanies), and I have a couple of small things from the cruise as well (DCL frame, notebook).

And we may try to put together a list of funny things "not" to do on a DCL cruise. Such as: do NOT allow your husband to pack for your debarkation morning after he has had martinis and a very expensive bottle of wine at Palo. Learned that lesson the hard way.

I will also be hosting a DCL House Party! This is so exciting! I've never done something like this before. Unless you count the Pirate Party we had last summer with about 35 of our piratey friends! It was a lot of fun and we've decided it will be an annual event. I hope this event is fun too! Annmarie

Maybe you can invite your Pirate friends to the DCL party. If you go back and read all the posts on this thread, you'll find some fun ideas for games and food.

I thought I saw on here where someone was having their party on Friday. We just changed ours, and changed the info etc. on the site, but the big banner sign didn't change. I emailed the help desk but they haven't been helpful.

If you had them change yours, would you please post a link? Then I could point them to an example.

I like this idea because you can get really inexpensive washclothes and then the cute bunnies have a use too! There were plenty of other towel animals to make if you google "towel animals".

I like this idea because you can get really inexpensive washclothes and then the cute bunnies have a use too! There were plenty of other towel animals to make if you google "towel animals".

OMG! Someone from HOBART!! I'm a Brickie, class of '68 (therefore, an OLD Brickie). I haven't been back in a few years, but barely recognized my old neighborhood as all the trees (which were scrawny stubbs when our subdivision was built) now grow OVER the street.

HEY! Sorry it took me so long to reply to your post...I just read through this thread again for the first time yesterday! The holidays somehow got in the way of my DIS time!

Anyway, I'm exactly 20 years behind you...I'm an '88 grad. You'll need to come back soon...they're building a new high school. Not sure yet what will happen with Brickie Bowl or the middle school. But, the present HS will be the MS when the new HS opens. I've heard talk of demolishing Brickie Bowl.
