Now the big news - they were filming the new promotional video for Disney Cruise Line while we were on Castaway Cay on December 8th, and I got to be in it! We were up in the observation tower and the film crew was there and they asked if I wanted to be in the video, so of course I said YES!! :yay: I got to dance with Rick the "star" of the video, and I also had to look through the telescope and Rick popped up in front of me and I had to act surprised. So, look for me on the video. I may end up on the cutting room floor, but DH videotaped and took pictures. AND--they are sending the new video to all the party hosts so we can show it at our parties!!! :happytv: Someone else I know was videotaped at the hot tub near the adult pool on the Wonder. We saw Rick later onboard the ship and also at Epcot, and he stopped to say hi and give me a hug. What fun!!
How cool!!! What great Disney magic! I'll be looking for you on the video - how awesome!!! And thanks for the great party ideas!!!

i to remember getting a drink on boarding, however, i also got a piece of paper to sign for that drink and paid for it.:rotfl2: at the time they handed it to me i thought it was free. my bad.

Well at least i know I'm not the only one and cant remember to tell you the truth if we had to pay for it or not. I don't remember paying for it :rotfl2:

Tikihula...thanks for the great game ideas. We have purchased many paintings at the Auction so that is a great idea for us mostly since many of our invited guests know that we love DCL auctions. :thumbsup2

Using the Monopoly money sounds like fun.

Packages will be arriving soon! :)

"The fantastic party package will be cruising its way to your doorstep soon! It will include some great gift items to make your party magical. Excited to find out what's inside? Here's a sneak peek of what's included...

Exclusive host gifts, balloons, posters, cocktail napkins, pirate garb, island music CD, a never-been-seen Disney Cruise Line DVD, children's activity sheets, party prizes, recipe cards, party favor bags and more."

I CAN'T WAIT!!! :)

Tikihula, all your ideas are wonderful. I had thought about playing kinda of a trivia game, something like Disney did a few years back "who wants to be a mousketeer." I was going to use some of the questions from my daughters Disney Trivia Pursuit.

I'm assuming that DCL is assuming we would probably use the beanie babies and beach towels as prizes, and maybe even the character sketch, but I will definitely retain that $50 on-board credit voucher for our next cruise, especially since they are also sending 10 of them for our guests.
What about the pack of Disney Dollars - anybody going to hang on to them, or use them as a door prize or game prize?
I want my guests to win lots of prizes, and I have several other Disney items to use as prizes, so my conscience is torn between using the party items as prizes and keeping some of them myself.
What do you the rest of you think about this - keep 'em or share 'em?

if anyone has any of the on board credit certificates left, please let me know. i was not excepted and will not be able to attend as everyone lives so far away.
anyway, can't hurt to ask. if you have any that are not taken.......:flower3:

Strange all theses double and tripple posts...

The host prizes are ment for the host to keep and the other for the guests...so the decision is yours.

I am going to use one of the host towels as a gift along with the $130.00 in H2O prizes , such as the door prize and Pictionary and another game or something , that I purchased. I am also haveing 2-$25.00 bingo games. the only thing I am asking my guests to bring is $2 each to use as one of the Bingo pots. It will be up to you how you want to distribute the items.

If I had more guests coming that were DCL freeks like my family than I would use more of the hostess gits. They are ment for us but to do with as we please.

The rest is mine I tell you mine :rotfl2:

I am curious of one thing however....some of my guests may never sail on DCL or not for a long time. Wondering if they don't want the $50 voucher if we can usre them...wonder if it will say only one per cruise., or have an experation date?

Seems a shame to have them go to waist. If we can only use one and my guests dont want them than I will be mailing them to Dis members that are on my next cruise in July.:thumbsup2

May try Party City first to see if they have any summer decorations still hanging around at a very discounted price.

On the House Party site, there is a woman that goes by "chirpy14" from Raymond, NH having a party but no way of getting ahold of her. I would really like to go to one. I am getting ready for my second Disney Cruise in May and would love to attend a party. I would even be willing to help (food, decorations, entertainment, etc) and I know some of my cruise companions would love to come too. If anyone knows how I can get ahold of someone on the house party website, I would really appreciate it! Thanks for the help!

If you register on the House Party website, then you would be able to post a blog on her party page asking if their are any openings at her party. Doesn't hurt to try...........;)

Okay, I have an idea for what I think is would be a cool door prize but I need your opinions. What do you guys think about the Passporter guide for DCL? The 2007 version is out now but the 2008 version doesn't come out until 1/28/08. Should I place an order for the '08 book and just tell the winner that the book is coming? Or should I get the '07 book now? What do you you guys think? DH and I have the deluxe book that we buy the refill to update each year we do another DCL cruise and we just love it.

Okay, lets talk food. Here's what I have so far.

Strawberry Smoothies (for the kids or those who don't want to drink)
Strawberries and cream (like at Palo)
Shrimp cocktails
Caribbean jerk chicken
Chicken fingers
Captains Treasures (drink special from Pirate night - yum!)
Konk Coolers
Mickey rice crispy treats

What else is everyone serving? I need some more ideas for party food!!!

Hi!

We're going simple - little rolled sandwiches from the freezer section at WalMart or Sam's, some other finger sandwiches, fruit, and dessert pizza and some kind of punch. I decided no alcohol at this party (too expensive and I don't want friends drinking and then driving), so does anyone have a recipe for a pina colada type punch, or fruit punch, that doesn't contain alcohol? Thanks.
