DCL not returning to Australia/NZ

This summer PC is the Wish/Treasure/Magic. I think the Magic and Treasure are doing well....it's the Wish that's struggling. Part of that is the Wish is pricey and the Magic is running similar or better itineraries for about the same price or a little more.

Looking at cruises my February break week, just comparing the Wish and the Fantasy, the Wish is included in the 50% off for guests 3 and 4, the Fantasy isn't. Far more availability of rooms on the Wish compared to the Fantasy (at least in the category/location I like to book. Deck 8 midship deluxe family oceanview.)

The system imploded when I went to look at the Treasure's availability.

Just sailed a 5 night and a 10 night on the Magic. Both sailings were sold out. Seems the Magic is doing ok in Florida.

It prime summer vacation season right now. And honestly the ships mostly always are "sold out". Its how they fill the remaining cabins and at what price that really makes a difference.

I've mentioned before, I think in the Fall 2026 thread, about that small pool of Australian cruisers that would be interested in sailing again, one of the dealbreakers is they don't want to pay for the exact same experience. IMO if DCL had switched out the Wonder with the Magic it would have created enough interest to sustain at least one more season (I also personally prefer the entertainment and dining show options on the Magic so I'm slightly biased )

It's a shame but at least for me I'm only a 5 hour flight from the Adventure.

Where in australia is it a 5 hr flight from adventure? Or are you in another part of asia?

Perth and Darwin flights to Singapore are around 5 hours. Perth a little more and Darwin a little less.

As of an hour ago, DCL has officially announced their withdrawal from the Australia/NZ market on some of their social media accounts.

This is why the Wonder's withdrawal doesn't upset me as much as others, being in Perth it was already 3.5hrs (to Melbourne) or 5hrs (to Sydney) to sail on the Australian itineraries. Obviously it's a bit farther for the east coast, but for me it'll be 5hrs to Singapore any time I feel like a few nights on the Adventure. I can deal with that.
