Hi DISers!

This is my first look at the DCL board. I spend most of my time over on the podcast or parks boards. I've decided we are going to take our first Disney Cruise likely in Dec 2015. I know that we want to do either Fantasy or Dream. I have so much research to do (yes, i am planner). Can you direct me to a few not to miss threads maybe for first time DCL experiences? I'm a veteran WDW visitor (and former CP CM) so I know the basic "disney speak" just looking for tips specific to the cruise. I have cruised before but only as a teenager and not with hubby and kids! Feel free to post threads to check or any advice. I will be booking through DreamsUnlimited so no need to recommend a booking agent just info please. And in case it might help your recommendations...we are a family of 4. The girls will be 12 and 9 at the time of travel.

Thanks for any help
Kim

One starting point would be the FAQ sticky at the top of the page. Some of the info there is a little dated, but it'll get you started.

Then, take a few days and just peruse the various threads here. You'll get a pretty good idea of the sorts of things you should be aware of. As you have, most likely, at least a month or two before the cruises you are looking for will be available (based on speculation posted here), you a little time to read up.

And, when you have specific questions, ask away, we're (generally) a friendly bunch.

:welcome:

Thanks! I will start with the FAQ and go from there. I appreciate the help. Yes...after listening to some podcasts and reading some posts I want to be prepared to book in January (just in case it opens that early)

I would also appreciate recommendations on your fav travel bk re:DCL and podcasts. Thx!

I highly recommend the book Passporter for Disney Cruise Line. It is packed with information for both new and repeat Disney cruisers.
