DCL Merchandise

Is there any way to order DCL merchandise and have it delivered to your home?

We're taking our DD (age 9) on our first cruise to celebrate her birthday in Feb. We've just told her that we have a big surprise for her next birthday, and that we'll tell her what it is after all the Christmas presents are open. At that point, I'd like to present her with a gift that clues her in on the cruise. I have a copy of the cruise video that I can give her -- but I would love to add some Disney Cruise Line merchandise. All I can find on the DCL site is the forms to have DCL merchandise delivered to our state room.

Has anyone ever had DCL merchandise delivered to their home before a cruise?

You can either get one of our Disboarders to purchase and mail you the items or purchase it on Ebay.
I have never seen any DCL merchandise anywhere except the ships and Ebay.

You can try buying DCL merch. on E-bay or calling the WDW merchandise number. Sorry, I do not have it on me at the moment. But I believe there is an option for ordering DCL merch.

Way back in '97 before the Magic even sailed I bought three DCL t-shirts at WDW when they had the DCL preview center on Main Street. They sold DCL t-shirts and license plates, etc. They nolonger sell DCL merch at WDW.

Anyway, we were booked on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic and for Christmas I wrapped the t-shirts and gave them to the kids under the tree. When they were opened they were quite surprised to find out we were sailing on the Magic.

My future SIL just came back from the world and said they saw cruise items at the outlets in orlando.

and was told that DCL merchandise was generally exclusive to the shops on-board the ships themselves.

I don't know how exclusive they are but I bought a t-shirt that started falling apart after the first wash, I called the merchandise number and they sent me a new one with all the packaging to send the old one back.

You cannot purchase DCL merchandise from WDW Merchandise Mail Order.

You can get it from another DIS'er or from ebay.

I bought lots of DCL merchandise in the outlets in Orlando. Even Lime Green Castaway Cay shirts. I know they had stuff 2 weeks ago when I was there. Maybe you can call them and see if they do phone orders. I was at the character wharehouse. IF that helps

I thought other DIS'ers had said they ordered DCL merchandise from the WDW merch phone number....I guess I either misunderstood or they no longer do it. Sorry for posting in error.

Just wanted to say thank-you for all the posts! I went on E-bay and got an Ariel statue "Wonder" t-shirt and a Castaway Cay t-shirt to pack in a birthday bag with the video. They were reasonably priced ($15 and $20), especially since she's in adult sizes. If someone else made a little money shopping the Florida outlets and selling them on E-Bay -- I still appreciate it. I'll be forking over much more $$ to Disney to have a birthday present waiting in the cabin. But, to quote the VISA people, "priceless."

Hey MJ, that's okay. I only know this for certain because we got a jacket on the Magic 3 weeks ago that is the wrong size. When I tried to get the right size I was told that they couldn't get the merchandise from the ships. Something about it being duty free and all. I would think that their overstock and discontinueds go to the outlets though (which would explain so many people seeing it there).

You didn't misunderstand, they must have changed their policy! I purchased Castaway Cay Tee-shirts and two of the dressier black Polo shirts from the Treasure Ketch for DH for Christmas last year. His were wearing out so I just decided to try. What they offered was limited but they did carry some items. Sorry to hear they changed their policy.

A friend who volunteers at a local hospital thrift shop found a DCL Golf Shirt! She gave it to me to give to DD as part of her surprise gift! Now how lucky was that!
