DCL Member Cruise

I've had bronchitis for the past month.
I woke up late and totally forgot until I asked the date and I was
on the phone quickly. I did get in pretty fast and she said I was probably at the top of the waitlist.

My guess is that once the school schedules come out we'll see some cancellations.

Cheryl - sending you pixie dust that you feel better soon and that someone (not on the DIS) cancels!

Isn't it cool that the first DVC Resort is the only one that has a name sake that can be reached by DCL, and we are going there on a boat that is exclusively MEMBERS!

Congrats to all.

John

Old Key West - Key West Very Cool!

I hope they fly the DVC flag over the ship like they did last time. When they hoisted that flag we were all cheering so loud!

OH! We also got a our first choice of main dinner seating. Everyone else getting their dining preference?

I did. Main seating. My MIL was helped by the SAME CM and her call was answered right after mine (she recognized the last names and thought it was funny she had JUST helped someone with that name) Well, MIL thought we always got main seating so she asked for it. She was told main was sold out, but the CM told her "I think they got late seating anyway, so it's ok." So somewhere between 10:42 and 10:55, early seating sold out.

We got early seating as requested. We did late on the last Member Cruise and it was just a little too late for us. We prefer early!

Stateroom I requested and early seating and a really nice CM too - my day started off great!!!

We have early seating also! I got the rooms we wanted! We just got home from Great Lakes Crossing or I would have joined you all in the chat room! Sorry I wasn't home!

Hi! I finished on the phone around 8:50 CDT but couldn't post any sooner because we've had company today and I felt bad enough taking time away from her to be on the phone with MS. But.....I did get my first choice stateroom and early dining. :bounce:

CM I talked to said there were 65 CM available for this AM booking session. I was told that they were sitting there at 9:05 with no calls incomming. A clue that the phone lines were a fowl. ATT fixed and then the flood.

Hmmm, maybe that explains why I got through immediately when I called at 9:00 and was through in five minutes. Actually, I called the 407 number, hit 3, then 2 and realized that was not the way to go today because I got a weird message. Hung up and hit 3, then waited literally a few seconds for an operator to pick up. Got where and what we wanted. Even with giving our info, waiting for MS to talk to DCL and finishing up payment info I was off the phone by 9:10, easily.

It was particularly funny because we had just gotten off the Magic a few minutes earlier, literally, and I was dialing and discussing booking not just the next, but the second future cruise we have now booked!

Yikes! I was a basket case this morning. Dialed the 1-800 # just minutes before 9:00 AM and it worked just fine but said they weren't open yet, oh well, it was worth a try. When it hit 9:00, busy, busy, busy on three lines for 20 minutes. I saw on these boards to try the 407#, so I started calling that # with DH's business line & the cell. Got through within a few tries on the business line. On hold with a recording that said a 15 minute wait. What's that beeping I hear, noooooo, the phone can't be going dead it's the only phone on that line, I can't switch phones. I go upstairs, put the phone on speaker and the phone in the cradle to charge while I wait. Quick, pick up, I think that's a real person I hear not another recording, when I pick up the phone it switches to the other line, dial tone, hurry, switch back, nooooooo, they're gone!!!! (insert curse words here). Start redialing, nooo, not with that phone, grab the cell and the house line. 10 minutes later I get through again on the house line, wait time over 30 minutes. Darn, now how much do we pay per minute for our long distance service? Wait time 36 minutes, Amber has all our info in the system from our cruise this summer, got our first choice, off the phone with a ressie # in 10 minutes! It's 10:30 now, the kids think Mom has lost her mind. Oh yeah, now I've got to tell them I'm cruising without em!!!!

Wow, I was on the edge of my seat reading that! Great story telling! I was lucky enough to be on the cell phone for the 60 minute transaction (well, 37 minutes were wait time!) Not only did we not have to pay long distance with the 407 number, but free weekend minutes! I wonder what everyone pHone bill will be next month.

Glad you got in!

Actually, I found out last night that my CM put me on late seating. I asked for early, she told me early, I wrote down early on my paper with my stateroom number and all that. Talked to MIL last night and she said she's on late b/c Sally told her we got late. Checked my ressie last night online and found out we're on late. Not too happy about that considering I was TOLD early. :( Never have been on late, don't really like the idea of late. :(

Since the original info came out re:member cruise I have been back and forth --should I or shouldn't I? School is starting, LOTS of points, etc.
So I set forth like any good DVCer by comparing points w/ categories and cash combos. Real spread sheet action!!Plan, plan plan!

Come the day 10/23--I start setting my phones for redial at 8:30. at 8:55 I realized the phone lines are already busy--Yikes! I will not get through I think. So I keep calling, calliin , calling to that lovely busy signal!

I stop for awhile and come back-still I get BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!

Drive son to Soccer at 11:45. Still beep-beep-beep!ugh!
While driving say 3 Hail Mary's call-RING!!!It's a miracle.

At soccer game-booking cat4.! Lotsa points , but w/ 3 young kids we really like to be in the same cabin rather than at lower point rate categories.

I HAVEN"T TOLD THE FAMILY YET!! IT"S GOING TO BE A BIG SURPRISE!!

This is my First Member event. I can't wait to meet all of you wonderfyl fun people.

I still don't believe it!YES!

Believe it or not, I was at Church when my call finally went through! My cell phone was the first to connect (thank goodness it wasn't my land line) my son had to be picked up from CCD, so took phone with me while on hold, drove to the church early, in case I got through, I would be in the parking lot and not driving. CM picked up, and I managed to give her all of our onfo, she then put me back on hold while she checked availability. Now I am panicking, because I need to get out of the car and go inside to get son. Phone starts breaking up as I get closer to the Church. Start praying. Don't want to lose her now! I manage to see son, wave him over, and got back to car with better reception. PHEW.

I wonder what everyone thought of the busy-body with the phone glued to her ear! LOL

How did you check your resssie last night on line? We were told early also, and I wouldn't mind checking everything myself just to make sure what was booked.

Thanks in advance
