Pan pacific -
Originally , we had booked in August 2010 for $180 a night. Erik called the hotel
directly. They gave us a AAA rate.

Erik has been watching the price and we are down to $140 a night. The hotel told Erik that there is a conference scheduled the weekend of the 20th.

You may be able to get a cheaper rate if you book non refundable.

We are looking to book Pan Pacific also. Just called and they said that $231 was their lowest non refundable AAA rate. Wondering what you did to get it down to $140. What time of day did you call and what phone number did you call?

We found rooms at the $140 at the Pacific Inn. However they are not in Vancover.

My husband is amazing at getting good deals. He has a way of making people want to help him I think he got the rate before the conferences booked.

Erik just emailed me. He said that it is $200 per night for Pan Pacific.
The rate he gave me th other day was for a different hotel.

I know so many of you already and I am so excited we get to cruise together again (are we setting up for Aug reunion cruises or something ...ahh remember the Magic!) and for those of you who don't know me here is my info..

There is just two of us

We have very little planned thus far. We have been toying with the idea of this cruise but finally decided to book it. We are also booked on the Dream in June so we weren't sure if we could do two cruises in one summer, but just in case DCL doesn't go back to Alsaka in the next couple of years (or I get pregnant which may happen in the next year or two) we figured this sort of vacation would be good to do now...that's what I told Dan anyway

This time around Dan doesn't have the hours to add any days on before or after the cruise, so all we know right now is that we are flying into Vancouver Monday night from New York (probably Air Canada) and home the next Tuesday!

Looking foward to planning with you all.

PS- Kim I have to rent a lens again too..oh man it was hard sending that lens back last time lol!

Hey Lori, How dare you change cruises and not say anything.....Geez...talk about being disloyal....Isn't the inaugural cruise (which I hear is not really the first one because they have ones before it) like way more expensive and non refundable.....maybe we can get Kim or Susan to come with us....otherwise we'll be all alone....

Well let me know because perhaps we'll switch to the better one too....I just like that week though...it's the week between camp and school so I'm home with the kids anyway.

We can't all afford to do 2 cruises a year...like some people... who don't like us anymore and keep switching off our cruises

I'm really not that excited about this cruise like I was the med...I don't know why...I just can't seem to get into it... Maybe after seeing Lori and Susan I'll get the bug off their enthusiasm. They probably have all their excursions planned and I haven't really looked at them much.

Mindy, I told you when I switched to August 25, it only was a place holder and most likely we weren't going. Darren decided we're going to the London Olympics in the summer of 2012, so a cruise for the summer was out. When they switched the inaugural to our Spring Break, we jumped on it. It's not that expensive. I priced several different cruises for that week and they were all comparable. The old inaugural(4/7) was only 600 total cheaper for the same rooms we booked.

My guess is that once the Wonder gets to Alaska and people start posting glowing trip reports, and also once the summer heat descends on us, we'll get more into Alaska. I'm really focused on the Dream right now, and also waiting for summer 2012 destinations to come out!

Do you get warm weather? We really only get a day or 2 a summer in the 80's. My bonus with this trip is that I own all the clothing I need!!! Last summer I had to buy a ton of stuff!

Do you get warm weather? We really only get a day or 2 a summer in the 80's. My bonus with this trip is that I own all the clothing I need!!! Last summer I had to buy a ton of stuff!

and we have to buy this time!!!! I'm sure we'll need advice..... consider yourself hired!
