Kim I know...I want everything. Yea the filters make some of the colors intense. I don't always mind, sometimes I saturate my colors on iphoto for that effect, but I like to have the raw original too. I think with landscapes you want to avoid over exposure and over saturation. Let me know what you come up with. I have the same camera as you ( mine is like 2-3 years old though)lol!

Hi Fellow Cruisers.

I just wanted to share some info for those looking to stay at the Pan Pacific in Vancouver the rate I just got. $179.00 per night. this includes - 2 for 1 buffet breakfast .
It is a Non Cancellable - Non Refundable rate. It is the lowest I have seen and I have been watching for a while. My dates are aug 21-23 two night.

I think I may book it because it is a great hotel, that is a great rate which includes breakfast and the location really can't be beat.

Because it is 2 for 1 buffet - I would inquire as to what the buffet costs.

Feeling kind of left out with all the planning in Vancouver as we don't have to do any of it this time around. Great cost savings ways, but bummer in planning ways.

That is a great rate. I booked a non-refundable rate of 195 CAD months back. I just checked and think I found the pricing for the breakfast buffet, and it's not bad.

Buffet Breakfast available from 6:30 am - 10:00am daily.
Full Buffet $ 28.50 Adults, $14. Young Adults under 12 years of age
Cold Buffet $ 24 Adults, $ 12 Young Adults under 12

You're right, that's a terrific rate! We just booked it and will cancel our Disney reservation at Pacific Rim. By the way, the CAD 179 is for both City and Inner Harbor views, the Harbor Mountain view is CAD 199 and the Premier Double is CAD 219. They are all terrific rates. Thanks for letting us know!:thumbsup2

Figured it would be in the $20+ range, that's why I cautioned about the cost. Pricey for just breakfast - you are paying for the fact that it's a highend hotel.

I agree that it is high-end and more then I would like to pay. I have been checking often and the lowest I found was the 209.00 rate. I figure that the extra cost is worth it for the convenience factor.:thumbsup2

Does that mean no pirate night???????????

Does that mean no pirate night???????????

No I think there is a Pirate night, they just won't tell me what night it is:rotfl:!

Anyone staying Concierge? I bet they could find out. If not, I am sure we will see the reports coming back in May...of course by then we would have booked Palo and what not grrrr.

I think there is a pirate night, but there is no fireworks.

We didn't have fireworks during Pirate Night on the Baltic. Of course, it was still daylight at 10:00 pm, so we didn't really miss them. Better Pirate Night with no fireworks than no Pirate Night!

We're staying concierge (8032).

There is no pirate night. They are not setting off fireworks in Alaska. Mainly due to the environment and also it doesn't get dark up there until really late.

There is going to be something else in it's place - but what? is still a surprise.

Don't tease, I know some ladies who would book the cruise just for that! I heard Brent was sent to WDW entertaining is that true? As long as we do not have Peter...we weren't fans:rolleyes1

That was all a rumor. Brent denied it in the Fall - but haven't been reading the main board much since our cruise, so maybe it was true??? Anyone, know for sure.

It's joked that one of the CM's is going to do a show on the little table in the center of the new Quiet Cove pool on the Dream :lmao:

Mary, it's been rumored Brent will be the CD of the Fantasy!!! I know for one I'm SO excited as we'll be on the inaugural sailing of the Fantasy!!!!!

This was for last summer. I had about 3 lenses I was looking at, and I emailed them about what I was going to be taking pics of. They led me to the 16-35, but it sounds as if mine was a bit different. I have the eos t1i, and rented the ef 16-35 mark II usm. I didn't consult them about filters, but talked to a local guy and use a polarizing filter on my 55-250 in hopes to reduce water glare. I didn't really care for the coloring it added to the photos. I had to do a lot of tweaking on the computer to get rid of some of the artificiallity I feel ended up in the pics. That's why I'm certainly interested in finding out more info about what filters they would recommend. I'll probably email closer to the cruise, and will share what I learn. Have you looked at their used equipment for sale page? Drool!

I have been reading a little bit on cruise critic about lenses and a lot of people are recommending telephoto lenses for Alaska with a min 200mm zoom. I own a 25-135 but I don't know if it will be enough. The have some nice zoom lenses on borrowlenses!:confused3
