"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

Very excited now only one more day to work. Tomorrow morning we head out very early to the Orlando airport to head to Seattle and then on to Friday Harbor where we will spend the weekend kayaking and camping. Sunday evening late it is on to Vancouver. Today at work is probably going to drag by but know that it won't be long now.:cheer2:

I know we are less than a week away and I've been following this thread since Part 1 so I thought I should introduce myself. I am Karen (Tinked) and am traveling with my friend Gail. We are both retired from the same school where I was the librarian and she taught 2nd grade. We are in Stateroom 2026, a favorite room of mine. I stayed there on the EBTA in April, 2010 when I booked this cruise. Looking forward to meeting you all and doing Alaska. This has been on my to-do list for a long time.:banana::banana:

Hi Jackie! we met on the EBTA, glad to see a familiar face on this cruise.:yay:

Look forward to seeing you all soon. Anyone staying at the Fairmont Waterfront? I've seen lots are at the PanPacific and was wondering about the Fairmont. We are flying in on the 22nd.:cloud9:

:welcome: If you've been lurking, then you've seen we have a meet on embarkation day at the Promenade Lounge? 3pm! Hope to see you there!

Hi Karen,

My family is right down the hall from you in room 2010. So happy you and Gail are coming along. We will see you two on the Mickey boat!

Can you believe that one week from today we will be on the ship!:dance3: I am so excited I can not stand it.

I've been running around in the 62* drizzle for 2 days, practicing for the Alaskan weather! Yuck!

:sad2:

Just about this time next week, I should be boarding the ship. I was originally going to post that I'd be unpacking my suitcases and then I remembered the 3 hour time difference. :goodvibes

Welcome Karen and Gail! I'm a student teacher and I was placed in a 2nd grade classroom last year. I love that age. So darling! And our favorite day of the week was Thursday, library day! Well, Fridays were pretty nice too! It usually meant a beer for me at home! :lmao:

Hopefully we will see you at the meet!

I can't wait! At just about this time in one week we will be meeting in the lounge! Woo hoo! :cool1:

I have a silly question. Will the stateroom host(ess) allow me to use their vacuum (with hose) to allow me to use my spacesaver bags for the trip home:confused3. Our jackets take up between 1/4 and 1/2 of the suitcase without them!

(I'm posting this over on the FB page too, for those who aren't connected to both! Thanks!)

We looked at our suitcases and were thinking the same question and I was coming to post it too. Funny how that works. So I hope they will because that will help on the suitcase space!

Hi everyone! I wish was was heading out on this cruise with you! I am hoping that someone that is going on this cruise will be able to help me out by purchasing a few Disney pins for me! I am looking for:

Just noticed your post . Im a Disney pin collector myself.
I have a few pin I trade and alot of them mean something to me and I won't trade. For example my Cruise pin from the Member cruises and the Eastern Carribean Cruises ST Thomas and ST Martins Pins, and the Western Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
Why do you want an Alaska Pin if you arn't going. If I did that it wouldn't mean nothing to me ????
I guess you just want it to trade.

From what I've read the Port specific pins are sold out. Really hoping they replenish them before we get onboard. I collect the Port pins.

Dee and Wyn, Venetia and Bubba.

Stopping by with my official:cheer2: BON VOYAGE:cheer2: for you since I don't when y'all are heading out. I know you will have a WONDERful time.

I know ALL the Klondike Kruisers will have a WONDERful time. Safe travels to you all!

No, I don't want it to trade! I collect certain characters and certain sets. Chip n Dale are my favorites, so when I see a cute pin with Chip n Dale I try to hunt it down. I just think the anchor pins are cute, so I am collecting those. I would not be looking to get pins to trade, I have lots of traders! I just find that some of the DCL pins are hard to trade for, maybe not enough pin collectors going on cruises and getting extras to trade!

I too hope they still have all the Alaska stuff for us end of season cruisers!!

From what I have been hearing the Alaska pin are all sold out as of now.
I hope they have a new new supply by Tuesday when we board.
Im bringing about 40 pins to swap on swap night aboard the ship.
As I said I keep my pin that want to keep at home.
