"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

You're time is coming!!!! You don't live with her!!!! This morning to give you an example, she wore her "favorite" outfit on Sunday. Hadn't washed it, just put it in her hamper. This morning after getting dressed comes down in that DIRTY, SMELLY "favorite" outfit. I send her upstairs to change before the bus, she proceeded to put on clean clothes over said "favorite" outfit, which she removed in the garage and threw the clean ones on the DIRTY garage floor. She's so grounded when she gets home!!!!!!

LOL sorry I shouldn't laugh but I am! My DD who is coincidentally the same age as your DD pulled something similiar to this a few years ago, it was in Elementary but I cannot remember what grade, 3rd maybe? It was picture day and she had picked out a "dress up dress" to wear for pictures, told her absolutely NOT! So she meekly changed her clothes. She didn't know i was volunteering to help with pictures, so in walks her class and she is in THAT dress. She had thrown it in her backpack and changed at school. THAT picture is so getting blown up and put on her senior poster. Our time will come!

DH retired in 99. Where was every one stationed?
We were in Los Angeles, Griffis, Sembach, Loring, Guam and Hurlburt?

Ds is back in Germany where he was born!!!

Keesler, George, Bergstrom, Alconbury, Eglin/Hurburt, Egypt, Viet Nam, Ramstien and McGuire

I loved Germany. So centrally located to touring other countries on the weekend. Of course I enjoyed the wine festivals and the volksmarches (becaue their was wine and snitzel after).

Thanks so much Robyn, for the link to this trip report! I found it very fun to read and super helpful for me since I'm right in the middle of the planning stage!

I'm starting to get really excited for this cruise! The last Disney Cruise I was on was a Mexican Riviera one way back in 2008! It seems like ages!

Glad you enjoyed it!!

Julie

Welcome back stranger!

Ok we're starting. Bought raincoat/windbreakers for everyone this weekend. Who would have thought such a light looking coat would be so expensive. We still need one for my DS, didn't have his size. I don't think the kids need much stuff since we'll mainly bring fall clothing. DH and I will need to go on a major shopping trip a week or two before so we have stuff to wear, since there is so much less of both of us...:cool1:

Glad to hear you were able to find stuff. Where did you end up going to get them? Did you order Sam's? I still have to get one as well :(.

I finalized our Vancouver plans. I booked a dolphin encounter for DH and one of the DGDs and a Beluga Whale encounter for myself and two of the other DGDs. We will be at the Aquarium most of the day. I think we will walk back along the sea wall and go and see the gas light, olympic torch and if there is time take the Cabke car to Granville Island.

I have also started organizing our packing. We are going to bring our ski/snowboarding jackets because they are light weight, warm and waterproof. We are also bringing our Mickey ponchos. I am packing jeans (such a shocker for me), polo shirts, a sweatshirt to layer up with and possibly underarmour. I am going to wait and see what other August cruisers have to say. I will probably bring a few skirts for dinner because I cannot imagine myself going to dinner in jeans. I am briniging one long skirt and two tops for formal/semi formal night. DH may wear a tie, but no suit this time.

I am used to packing a bunch of shoes/sandals. This will be a bit different. Sneakers and ??? Still working on it.

Does this sound simple enough?

We first bought Haylee's and Jim;s at EMS. They were both $100. They didn't have anything for Sam and their sizes didn't fit me. Then we went to a local sporting goods store and we found one for me and Haylee fit into the children's size (which was only $50) so we returned the first one. They are all northface, so they should be good. We didn't order Sam's - we're going to try and go back and get it.....If not we'll take a ride to REI (which is a little distance away)

I have my packing list made, but I haven't started packing yet. I wish I could, but we are going to Bible Camp in 2 weeks and need to use our same luggage bags for that. Right after that, though, I plan to get busy.:)

I am hoping to get together all my FE stuff and maybe pack that all together this week. Speaking of FE, just as a reminder JULY 23RD is the cut off date for FE. If you're interested in playing, please let me know and I will put you on the list. So far we have 22 families playing.:goodvibes

Have a great day everyone! This summer is sure going fast. We have been so busy here.

Vicki

I know, so different than the Caribean. I am going to have to buy socks!!! Who wears socks on a cruise??? But not bringing our snorkle stuff will save some room!

I think 2 pairs of sneakers, so one can dry if it's wet while we are there. My docksiders don't do well in the rain.

We are going brunch so will have to bring nice pants for that day. Black slacks with dressy sweaters for the formal/semi nights.

I wonder how cold it is in the am. I am a 6am walker, but it might be too cold on deck 10!!

Tennis shoes, hiking boots, Keen sandals. Flip flops, heels, and lord only knows what else.

Now that I'm back from Texas, I guess I should start thinking, eh?

You'd think for someone who is leaving in a month, they'd be a bit more organized. I have like three things bought and nothing out, organized or even thought about it!!! I think we'll be freezing or have like 50 bags!!!!

Lori - I'm with you...I'll probably be packing the night before
