"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

We're doing the Mendenhall Glacier Explorer too :-) see you there! And I'm also slotted in for a hot stone massage. I don't know which I am looking forward to more lol

I was going to wait for Izzy's passport but......if you get to pick a time I am totally checking in lol

We are waiting for 3 of our kids passports too. They had to be renewed, so we are waiting to get them back. I have starting checking in online, but they won't let me go any further until I have their passports. Hopefully our check in time at port won't be too late.

Vicki

We are going to do the White Pass Railway and Trail Camp excursion too. :thumbsup2 Are you doing the morning or afternoon session? We are in the afternoon one. We are hoping to go on the Tram in Juneau too, but we wanted to wait to make sure that it wasn't too foggy out.

Vicki

We are doing the morning session. We decided on this so we would be out early and have the rest of the day in port to explore on our own. Also because of the time change, I figure the kids will be okay to get up early on this trip.

We are going to the Louisville Bats (Cinn Reds farm team) baseball game tonight. They are playing the Yankees farm team. Megan and Jose got us the tickets. We are seeing the Reds pay the Yankees in Cinn in June. Megan has aready said I can not take my kindel. :lmao::rotfl2:

I am so indecisive.....

I just canceled our Mendenhall Glacier Adventure Hike and switched to the Mendenhall glacier and Rainforest Garden adventure for our Juneau day. I was worried that the hike may be too strenuous for some members of our group.

That's so funny! I switched my excursions twice on 5/25. Once I got what we wanted, I realized we had two different whale watching excursions in two ports, so I switched, then I went back in to switch times! I vowed, I will not make any more changes!

What did you end up with? (so far). Juneau seems to be the hardest for me to choose. I am now thinking about the mendenhall float trip for all of us. I would like the zip with the glacier explorer but DM hass said no zip lines for her. She wouldn't stop us. I am just looking for something we can all do together. Maybe the float trip and an on our own visit to the glacier? I am sure as i continue reading reviews more changes will come.

We ended up with the klondike gold dredge/white pass railway in Juneau; exclusive whale encounter and mendenhall glacier in Juneau; and magnificent misty fjords by floatplane in Ketchikan.

In Skagway, we originally booked the 7:30-12:30 time, but changed it because I thought the fog may be burned off later in the day, so we are now going on the 12-5 time.

In Ketchican we were originally going to do the Misty Fjords boat and floatplane adventure, but switched to the magnificent misty fjords by floatplane. To me, for the price, I wasn't happy with only a 25 minute flight. Now we have the 45 minute flight and you step out on the floats, with a maximum of 10 people per flight. It sounds better for us.

I was originally thinking about the Best of Juneau but was scared off by trip reports that indicate the boat holds 110 people and is very crowed and you couldn't see the whales on the other side of the boat because it was so packed.

I think there is more than one group that has made special friendships through cruising with Disney....I know I'm part of one too :cool1:

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

For those playing FE, we have 17 families signed up so far :woohoo: and was wondering if we should consider a cut off date for signing up at some point. Should we suggest a month before we sail to give everyone enough time to buy for FEs or does anyone else have any other suggestions? Also, if someone were to want to join after the cut off date should we make another list and make it optional for those on the main list. I am open to suggestions for this too.

I can't wait for this cruise!!!!!It is really getting closer.

Thanks,

Vicki
