Just made reservations for the June 27 sailing of the Wonder, and surprisingly got, what I consider, I pretty good deal. We used 158 points for 1 adult in a Category 7 (actually got one of the open verandahs with an obstructed view and paid cash for 1 adult and an infant. I was asked to pay less than I had expected based on the info I got here at the DIS. The 2nd adult was around $1150 and the infant $150. This was comparable to most of the sites I checked out online and cheaper than the DCL site.

SO...

If you want to use your points for the Disney cruise, go ahead, even if you need to pay cash for part of the trip. This is our second time going (first with DS), and we plan to enjoy every minute of it!

Hi,

WOW! Great!! Mom & I are going to go "home" & a wonder cruise in Spring 2005!!! This is good to know! Thanks!

That cruise (4 Nights- Disney Wonder-June 27, 2004) would be about $2425 thru Dreams Unlimited Travel- including the Rebate currently being offered.

If you subtract the $1150 and $150 paid in cash, that leaves sbout $1125 for the 158 points used. That's around $7.12 per point and many have figured their points to be worth about that much using a variety of formulas ... and you don't have the extra hassle of trying to rent out your points.

Glad you're happy with the result.

Bon Voyage! You'll have a great trip! :)

The June time for that cat is not discounted very much as a rule though it has been included in the FL resident discounts this year. That puts it as one of the better values of cruising overall using DVC. You can always structure a time that showcases one extreme or the other. $7.50 is about the best you will do unless you compare to full price when there are no discounts.

Tink - are you using cash, points or both. We might be interesed again for a 2005 cruise. When will points come out? Does anyone know. TIA.

I think it was March the last couple of years but the very end of March this year if I recall correctly.

DCL hasn't even released any cash reservations yet for 2005, so there are no rates of any type available at this time.

As Dean stated, the point chart has usually been released in March for the following year.

Thanks everyone. I guess in March 2004 we will be deciding if we are cruising 2005.;)
