I feel like a family would outgrow the bedroom situation rather quickly. It's fine when the kids are young and small but does mom and dad want their 12 year olds in the bedroom with them for a week? I wouldn't want to buy a 50 year deed for that. Long and the short of it is the cabins are 100% not my vibe.

Quite a few people who buy into DVC stay in studios, so clearly there is a market. At least with the Fort there is a Murphy bed in the other room, just like a 1 bedroom villa.

To me, it’s not that different from the 1 bedroom set up, especially given the points difference. Put your 12 year old in the Murphy bed and walk quietly to the bathroom, and save a ton of points.

We wouldn’t want to own there for other reasons, but I think the bedroom setup really is overblown. And if you really need the bathroom attached to your room, pay the points for a 1 bedroom.

For us, the Cabin is way better than a studio at not much greater a point cost. We are usually only 2 in the Cabin, but it's great to have the full kitchen. Plus, since we have really cut back on our visits to the parks, it gives a really nice escape that feels all to its own and you can vacation with your dog, which for dog owners is a huge plus. And, if you want to go to the parks, the MK is a short boat ride away and the other parks are easily accessible by car (we drive).

The downside is the extra expenses do add up ($75/nt for a golf cart, $30/nt for a dog, etc.). That said, the cabins have become our new go-to... if we can get them at 7-months, which has been a huge challenge lately...

Considering the non-availability of CFW at 7 months, I think it's for the reasons above that people are booking the limited DVC inventory of cabins. I have one lined up for 3 nights next month and as much as I'd like to book another stay there just isn't any availability inside 7 months!
