Thank you! Do you know where this requires booking through DVC or can be applied for any travel agency or individual booking, and whether it is only for new reservations or can be applied to existing bookings?

The details say valid on new and existing bookings. You have to call DVC to book using points (or a mix of points and cash) or DCL if all cash.

Since this promotion is only for DVC Members that are eligible for Membership Extras, I don't believe it can be added through a TA as they would not be able to verify that.

I wonder if your TA could call their DVC agents then conference call you in to verify.

Possibly they could also verify by taking your DVC Member Number? Not sure if you should share that but just a thought.

Bringing my negativity into this thread, sorry. Even though I apologized in advance my negativity wasn't appreciated in the DCL forum when I accidentally commented over there thinking I was commenting here where I thought I had originally posted it.

These kind of things are why many people dont think buying DVC direct is worth it. While obviously there are many direct perks but when you see that holding a Disney Visa or Debit that has no annual fee and no credit impact will get you the same exact discount as owning DVC direct that is not a good way to sell benefits of DVC direct. https://disneyrewards.com/offers/di...m&pub=dr&type=lto&crt=content&plc=body&prd=cl

My points are all grandfathered, so, I could have used points. However, because we were not using points, we had to call DCL directly. The DCL CM recognized the Disney Visa promotion, not the DVC promotion, but I think that’s because we weren’t using points.

Usually there’s the caveat that you can’t make requests, and unfortunately, it seems needing a HA statement is considered just that. I am very happy that calling DCL Directly does help you get around that. A TA can’t help you get a HA room with the VGT promotions, but thankfully, DCL does. It really is a necessity!

Makes me think booking a cruise a year out doesn't always get you the best deal
It can be like that for the sailings that aren't getting booked up. These are all during hurricane season and also when it will be extra hot in the Bahamas. The problem with the special rates is that most people need more notice to travel if they aren't local.

I'm actually sailing during this, but I am on the Magic. I missed the part about it needing to be on the Wish when I first read it and was trying to figure out how I could get the OBC. Turns out, I can't because I'm on a different ship.

Many cruise lines allow you to reprice them up until final pay date.

With DCL, sales happen a lot less frequently and usually for the last minute sailings..

But these fares do come with restrictions. However, it can be worth it if one has wanted to do DCL!

If they cared they would give DVC members the returning cruise discount at all times. They dont so why I end up going elsewhere.

I bought DVC direct because we were going to be getting APs and at this point I am past the breakeven on the contract. Without needing the AP you won't come out ahead and its about FOMO.
