A fun idea we started a few years ago was to start a vacation diary. I was wondering if anybody else does this? Each family member has a vacation journal that they keep from year to year for every vacation whether big or small. We write down in our journal our experiences every night or more likely each morning our memories of the day. We then share our highlights with each other. My excitements of the day are different than my DW, DD, DS and the same vise versa. It is fun to read back past years vacation experiences. Especially when the kids were younger and could only write one sentence like "We rode in the car ALL DAY"(2 hours) or "We saw an elephant". We are looking forward to adding PAGES and PAGES to our journal this year on Wonder 6-9-05.

My husband and I do this (we do not have any kids yet). We also keep a journal of our marriage. We just highlight some big events that occurr or something thoughtful that we did for the other person. It's fun to read back on. I'm looking forward to the day we are 80 and reading back on everything.

I would imagine from some of the painstakingly detailed trip reports that are posted, the only way to accomplish this would be to keep a diary of day-to-day activities on the cruise.....

I journal all my trips (started a few years ago). I get a little spiral notebook and jot down everything I do, see, eat, feel, etc, then when I get home I type up a trip report. It's a great thing to read again after then trip and it brings back everything to mind. I also use my notes and trip report for my scrapbooks.

I just purchased a travel journal but have yet to write anything in it yet. Our first vacation is this August to Canada/Niagara Falls/Yankee-Blue Jay's game. I will try it out then. It's a cute idea for the kids, too. I may just do that. Thanks.
