DCL cruise with points

Has anyone ever been upgraded when cruising on points?
Can you upgrade at the port if you are using points?

Upgrades with points are few and far between be sure to book something you can live with for the length of the cruise.

I do believe you can upgrade at the port with cash from a DVC room if there are rooms available. Best to ask that question on the Cruise board, I'm sure someone there will be able to help and know for sure.

Thanks for the reply! I did ask a while ago and didn't get any replys.
It was just asked again by some one esle and no anwers either.

At the moment we have an inside cabin , I can live with it but after having a verandah back in April ,I am thinking I want it again!

We will get there early and hope for some pixie dust!!!!

I will tell you I booked with points and inside room and that is exactly what I got.

It's quiet around here on the week-ends. If no one answers on the cruise board, I'd wait till Monday and bump up the post, maybe someone can help you then.

Same here. Actually, I have been on 6 Disney cruises (only 1 on points) and have never been upgraded. I wouldn't count on an upgrade. I don't know if you can pay for an upgrade at port. We just stayed in our Cat. 11 room.

This will be our 4th DCL cruise ,the second with points. We too have never been upgraded. There have never been upgrades available at the port. After looking at DCL website it shows that the ship isn't full. So I was thinking that there might be a chance we could upgrade at the port.
We are going on our first cruise without DD so I started thinking that a verandah might be nice. We loved it april!

I guess I will call on Monday and find out if its possiable. I can live with the insde if I have too. But if not I might have to talk the DH into paying cash for him.

I checked with DVC today and if upgrades are available at the port, you can use cash/credit card to upgrade if you are cruising with points!

We have cruised three times - a combination of points and cash for each one. We have never been upgraded. We do go in July - we also usually request certain cabins (always need two) - going in July and requesting specific cabins, may or may not make a difference. We did check at the port for our second cruise. We asked if we could upgrade and if there was a cabin (w/verandah of course) not too far from the cat. 11 inside (our sons) and there was so we took it (two adults, one child) for almost $700.
