I thought DCL buses picked up from all resorts? I wanted to add transfers from POP and was told DCL is not picking up there anymore. We were just at POP in October and they were dropping off and picking up there........ugh. Now what do I do? I don't want to have to lugg my luggage over to a deluxe on the buses.

They have never picked up from the value resorts or Coronado springs but only selective moderate and deluxe ones.

As you say to avoid lugging the luggage around, I would book a town-car taxi service direct to port, I understand that DCL buses do drop off at value resorts post cruise if requested.

Yes they only pick up from certain resorts. They do drop off at all resorts though.

oh, now I understand, the bus we saw must have ben dropping off. Gee maybe we will book a mod or dexluxe, only booked POP cuz I got a good rate.

Thanks!

we have a total of four people, is a town car big enough? (me, hubby, DD 18 and her best friend 17...............

Goodness, I thought they picked up everywhere. Does anyone know which DVC resorts they pick up from or a link as to get that information?

DCL pick up can be arranged from the following DVC resorts:

Animal Kingdom Villas
Wilderness Lodge Villas
Boardwalk Villas
Saratoga Springs
Old Key West

If there are others, you would need to call DCL and find out for sure.

You probably saw the Mears owned DCL buses being used when the Magic or Wonder was not in port. You will see them all over the Orlando area when not being used by DCL. :)

Do they still pick up at the Dolphin? My traveling companion/friend is desperate to stay there the night before our cruise. I stayed there before my cruise in 2002, but haven't cruised from there since then.

Thanks!

Beth

They only pick up at the Dolphin if you are on the land/sea package...

If you do....check out Port Orleans French Quarter. Besides being one of my favorites, they also often have the best rates for a moderate! :thumbsup2

I've gotten picked up at the Dolphin for most of my cruises besides the first one and last one(which was in CA) and getting the bus there again so on up coming trip so yes they do pick up there

If you haven't booked a land/sea and opt to stay at a resort (not necessarily one with a DCL hospitality desk) and book a transfer from a DCL resort, can you perform your cruise check-in at the resort?

So, for example, I have a seven-night cruise booked. I opt to stay at Wilderness the night before, but book a transfer from the Polynesian. I take a cab over there. Can I check in for the cruise at the Polynesian to avoid checking in at the terminal?

If not, is there a way to check in for a cruise at a resort instead of airport/cruise terminal, such as staying AT the Polynesian (or any other DCL resorts)?

No you cannot check in for your 7 night cruise at the resort. You still have to stand in line at the terminal.
I was on the 7 night double dip, got picked up at the Beach Club, and still had to check in at the cruise terminal.

Did you check in at the terminal instead of the airport because you were staying somewhere the night before?

I noticed a large number of people checking in at the airport when we went for our land and sea. They all had to wait an hour for transport, though, and I'd like to avoid it.

No...you can only check in for your cruise at the resorts if you are on an official land/sea package, especially now as they have a new procedue at the port terminal where you get your picture taken after you check in at the desk. They direct you to another area to get your photo taken and each time your card is swiped coming on and off the ship your photo pops up along with your name. Not sure if your photo pops when they swipe it onboard for purchases...would be interesting to find that out. They told me the next step is to have your photo directly on your KTTW card.

Anyway it is no big deal to check in for the cruise at the terminal...if you hav all your paperwork filled out property it goes quickly.

The people at the airport were probably just checking in for the transportation not the cruise itself...that has to be done at the terminal in Port Canaveral.
