Going on the 3 day Wonder 10/24 just DH & myself and considering taking a Town Car(Happy or Tiffany) instead of Bus(which we have paid for) to get to port. We get into Orlando at 11:20 the day of cruise and want to get to port asap for resies and fun! Would a town car be any quicker? We know it would be more fun, no kiddies ect.... Wondering what you experts think. Thanks.

Hi Alison, my DW and I are also on the 10/24 cruise w/ you. We are flying down a day early and had the bus set up to try it. We have always taken the town car over, but the bus wasn't going to pick us up til 11:45 from the resort and we decided we wanted to be at the port sooner then that.
I would take the town car, they will be there to pick you up and you won't have to wait for anyone else taking the bus with you, and as you said the car will be a lot more fun for you and hubby.

PS...we have always used Tiffany, but which ever service you use, you will get great service. Have seen good things said about Happy Limo.

See you on board !!!!!

How do I get in touch with Happy or Tiffany? Does anyone else have any other recommendations for a private car transfer to and from the pier?

I just booked Cartiertowncar to the port. We got a sretchlimo for 7 of us for 125.00 plus tip. This is one way, I believe it is cheaper for round trip. I was happy with their service, they called me right back to confirm.

We used Yourride ( http://www.yourride.com ) for our recent trip & were more than happy. We went from WDW to the port & back to WDW & it was $250 for a stretch limo - for 5 of us, it would have been only $20 less to take the DCL bus so it was a no brainer.

I highly recommend a towncar over the bus! We have been using Happy Limo for a long time now and are totally spoiled...I don't think we could adapt to doing the bus again! If there is a crowd in front of you, you might have to wait one or two buses. With the towncar, you know you are leaving immediately and will get to the port as soon as possible. It's nice coming back, too, especially if you have an early flight. We were nervous on our last trip, as our flight was at 11:30, but it was no problem with a towncar. They even arrived a few minutes early, so we made the plane with plenty of time.

We are also using 'Yourride'. Rabbit gave our grp the best
price and I've read favorable comments on the transpo brd.
We are doing the 15 passenger van w/trailer for our luggage.
He also provides a car seat for baby and grocery stop.

about the "what ifs" of taking a towncar service. I would wonder about accidents, traffic or breakdowns on the way. What would the TC service do in a worst case scenario? I know these things can happen also on the DB, but I wouldn't think the ship would leave without a bus load of passengers.

What time is the first bus to the port? I would rather pay a little more and get to the port early with the town car than ride the bus.
What is the biggest town car/ limo that can be reserved?

Disney probably be more likely to wait for a busload of passengers BUT, since 9/11, all boat traffic is halted in the channel while the cruise ships depart (that's why all ships from the different lines leave in a short time window) and they are all escorted to the sea by the Coast Guard so they do need to keep to their schedules pretty closely. Both DCL bus service and the towncar & limo services would likely have back-up transportation arranged pretty quickly. With a towncar/limo, YOU set the schedule of when you want to arrive where with DCL busses, you go when they are ready & tell you it's time.

What is the biggest town car/ limo that can be reserved?

If you do a Yahoo search for limo companies in the Orlando area, there are some out there with stretch Excursions that can handle upwards of 15-20 people and some of the limo services offer vans or "limo buses" that are 24-30 passenger buses (like the rental car shuttles at airports) up to full size 60 passenger buses. Most stretch limos are 6-10 passenger size.

Thanks tstobb
We have a group of 9 and would love a ride in a large stretch limo. Will start looking for more info today.

The limo's are great but please remember w/ 8 or 9 people the amount of luggage you might have and if it will all fit in the car.
We used a stretch for only 4 of us in january and we packed the trunk and front seat. Just a thought to the wise.

Laura, although we have never had this happen to us, our driver brought it up once when telling us about a previous day's run. There was a major accident, but the towncar drivers were all called and notified about it so they were able to take an alternate route and avoid it. That was Happy Limo, but I would imagine that the others handle it in a similar manner. Since they have cell phones, they have a good chance of being notified before you get stuck in the traffic.

This will be our first Disney cruise but, having taken a limo to and from the airport to Disneyland, we are familiar with the benefits of limo over bus. That being said, what specifically are some of the disadvantages of taking the bus to the port . . . and then to WDW . . . and then back to the airport.
We've already booked our transfers through DCL but I might be inclined to change to a limo. Okay, let's be honest. ;) I'm hoping you can convince me to change to a limo.

Well... on the bus....hmm.... well... they're mean to you! Yes, that's it!! They're mean. And you can't say the word Disney or they make you ride on top of the bus... and... and... they put stick pins in every second seat just for laughs... and...

Seriously, the only disadvantages of the bus is that:
1 - you're on Disney's bus schedule
2 - you're with other people

Neither is bad... unless you really like to be in control of your own schedule and don't mind kids kicking the back of your seat (ask Barb).

That being said, if you really want the limo, get the limo! The vacation itself is a splurge (at least for us it is), so you might as well do it right :)

Thanks Barb.
I had the answers to my questions formulated in my mind, but I guess it just takes words of wisdom from the experienced to settle my curiosity. I imagine that leaving early from resort or airport, that there is plenty of time to get to the port just in cast those "what ifs" pop up. Now if I could only decide.....bus, TC.  ;)

Hey Disney4ever,
Our thoughts exactly. We each have our own large suitcase. 9 suitcases plus a few smaller ones. I guess our group will just have to take to bus.
What time does the earliest disney bus leave the airport for the port?
