DCI Fans

Anyone heading out to any of the shows over the next couple of weeks? I will be in Orlando for the show on Saturday night at the Citrus Bowl and then going to Murfreesboro for the Midsummer games.

Also heading over to Indy/Bloomington for finals week. Rumors are floating that they may have to move finals over to Louisville because the Bloomington stadium may not be fixed in time.

I was at the Toledo show and was impressed. I am hearing great things about Phantom Regiment this year!

My DD has a real good friend that spins in the "Spirit" DC from Alabama. Not sure what class they are in............

My DD has also been solicited multiple times to spin w/a DC, but she does not want to spend her summer on a bus & needs to save the $$$ for Grad School.

Spirit from JSU is in the World Class and right now they are sitting in about 12th place,

My daughter was in Cadets & Crossmen. We're both mellophone players in Reilly Raiders (alumni corps).

We'll be getting to FL two days too late to catch the show, but we'll get to see the ones in our area. Enjoy the show! I'm jealous!

We always try to go to Drums Along the Rockies at Mile Hi evry year. love it. We got to host nationals just two years ago! What a treat!

What/who is DCI?

A great organization for kids/adults who love music. Find out more about them at their website dci.org.

They do shows/competitons during the summer which culminates in August at world finals this year in Indy/Bloomington.

I was at finals in Denver that year. It was fantastic. Mile High is a great venue for DCI!

Well, George has some rather "unique" ideas, doesn't he? I saw The Cadets in Toledo this year and once again, he is cutting edge, for better or worse. I am not fond of narration and this show is all about Talk Show International.

Anyone know if they'll be doing the movie theater shows again this year? That would be our best hope of catching anything. We need to plan ahead and mabye hit Orlando next year - there's just always other things going on in the summers.

George Hopkins - yes. She learned a lot about music and a lot about life from that man. He's a great person.
