DCI 2011 Thread....

The weather last night was perfect for a show, there was hardly any breeze and the temps were more than comfortable.

Packo's was good, No crowds when we were there because there wasn't a Mudhens game.

BGSU was a good crowd. Lots of people out to enjoy a great show. Since it was the 50th anniversary of the Glassmen, lots of stuff going on there.

WOW to the corps last night. Only show I can say I am not fond of is Teal Sound. I don't like the electric violin or guitar. Maybe I am a purist.

Colts uniforms remind me of gatorade.

Phew, I feel better now that I got that off my chest! DCA RULES...no crap, just drums and bugles and some still in G...go figure!

BTW, have you heard about Cadets2? The plan is to put a corps in DCA All Age division, but check this out, there will be an age requirement of 16-22, but they will consider 23 and 24 year olds...hardly sounds like "all age" to me..heck they should be letting old folk too..huh Mike, so you can come out of retirement..

One thing for sure, since I know some of the management in DCA, Hop will have a tall order if he thinks he is going to step in there and dictate what is going on!

I do have to say that Crown has got one great show and the crowd is into it. They had me during their pre-show.

pinnie, nice to see you, and congrats on your retirement...I am semi, but not my original choice, low enrollment led to less hours...but I am spending more time as a travel agent now, and loving it!!!!

I am liking PR's show this year, but waiting for SCV to come alive, meaning I think they need to buy into it a bit more and sell it! Yes, Crown was in New England recently, and only thing I did not like was the electronics...guess I am too old school.

We are flying to Minneapolis tomorrow for the show on Saturday! I am hoping that this show doesn't get rained out like last year's did! The line up is amazing!

We just got back from our weekend in Minneapolis and the DCI show last night. All I can say is WOW this year! Last year, we ended up spending the evening in the stairwell of TCF Stadium due to severe storms. This year it was HOT.... HUMID HOT. But it was one fabulous night of drum corps. We arrived in time to see all the World Class corps and were not disappointed. I did see a lot of changes from last week's show in Bowling Green and the movie last month. I was so anxious to see Madison and boy they were worth the plane ride.

Next stop, Murfreesboro, next week, then on to Indy for finals!

Yeah baby....BAC beats Madison for the first time this season, in a convincing way by a full point...this after their equipment truck broke down, and they did not get a run through prior to show time due to no equipment to practice with. Adversity builds character, and it's proven again and again!! GO BAC!!!!

Little note thanking Teal Sound for running their equipment truck back to pick up Boston's equipment in time for the show...

Also, lets not forget this show was in Texas, and although it is hot here, I can't imagine what it is like on the field...wait yes I can...I remember Great Bend KS in 78....

FYI Word on the street is the flu is running rampant through the Scouts and they had at least 20 kids missing in the show last night.....
