Has anyone herd anything about this?? It sounds pretty cool, but isn't DCA's lagoon a little small to have fireworks like Illuminations?? More here.

Did you see where the California Adventure has cut its operating hours, effective today? And that The Main Street Electrical Parade (the once savior of the park) has been cut to only one performance a night? And did you hear that in two weeks, DCA’s operations will be cut back another two hours (an 8:00pm close)? Or did you hear that the day after Labor Day, the park goes down to a 10:00am – 6:00 pm operation – with more dramatic cuts rumored to happen in January and through spring (i.e., don’t come on a weekday)?

Anaheim has prohibited explosive fireworks anywhere in California Adventure. And because of the air traffic, outdoor lasers are prohibited as well. There is talk of fountains, some gas-fueled fire effects and live music. But since the Electrical Parade has not brought a crowd, the enthusiasm for spending money on a new show is waning quickly.

Of course at this rate, they might just stick sparklers on old Disney Store figures and call it The Pageant of The Masters.

And here we were considering a trip to California. A hopper pass just wouldn't keep us very busy there would it? Sigh... :(

The show sounds a little like the waterfountain show that they do at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, which should be fun. The lagoon is very pretty at night anyway, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed & my hopes up.

Planogirl - Don't let AV get you down, he's mostly disappointed that Disney didn't do a better job on DCA. I think they're trying to rectify their mistakes, but it takes time. If you're interested in the park, chances are that you'll have a really good time there. I never do get through all I want to do at DCA (partially, I will conceed, because things keep breaking down), and I love the park. Just make sure to get a hopper pass, since that way you can go back across the plaza to DL for the rest of the evening.

Paul Pressler also said that a new major attraction is in the works right now for DCA. Plus this new show hopefully, Millionaire and another e-ticket attracition will help DCA out a lot.:)
