DH isn't big on things with times that "lock" us in to a schedule, and I've already booked us for a WOC lunch at Carthay in addition to the show itself. So I don't know that I can count on going to two shows during our one day at DCA this month. Should I focus on Aladin or It's a Bugs World? Our kids are 9 and 11, and we've seen the Muppets showon a previous trip. We do like theater and musicals -- as long as they are good.

I think Aladdin is great--like a short Broadway play. It does take about or over an hour for start to finish: your whole party needs to be in line together (probably not so important if not weekend) and then the show is about 45 minutes (I think). It is well worth it. Bug's life is fabulous--it is much shorter and plays much more frequently and I've never waited in line for it. I think it might be helpful to schedule in Aladdin if you want to commit to over an hour to something or just play Bug's World by ear. Another fun and short show is Turtle Talk in the Animation area that your kids would also like--can usually just walk on up to this one also.

Agree. Aladdin is well worth planning for. Great show and a nice sit down inside with air conditioning. Bug's Life is an easy walk up any time you want to do it - you might need to wait 5-8 min for next show to load but you are going to wait that long at any ride.

Aladdin is one of the best shows at DLR and worth the time if you have it.

Aladdin. And there are a few showings throughout the afternoon. Lots of fun, nice break from the heat. People line up early for the best seats but we enjoy it no matter where we sit so we don't bother to get there early.

In my opinion, Aladdin is a must see for everybody!!! It would be such a missed opportunity to visit without seeing Aladdin. It is truly amazing, possibly the best thing about visiting for me.

It's a great show. You really should try to work it in.

Aladdin for sure. Bugs Life is fun, but it's quicker. And, when my kids were younger, a bit scary for them.

I'm with everyone else - Aladdin is a must see.

Bugs is actually really good. And you don't have to lock yourself in. It cycles all day so if you're passing by without a pressing need to get somewhere else, it's worth the stop to see it. Especially for your kids' ages.

Have fun!

Aladdin and It's Tough to be a Bug aren't really comparable. Aladdin is a big broadway style show, as others have said. ITTBAB is just another attraction that runs continuosly and really takes no more time than most other attractions. I second a pp that Turtle Talk is super cute, though again, it doesn't take much more time than other attractions, especially if you arrive close to when one is about to start.

Thanks all! Sounds like I will definitely be trying to work Aladdin into our itinerary this trip! It wasn't playing last time we were there and I was disappointed, so hopefully we will have the time. I'm also really looking forward to Cars Land on this trip because we haven't seen it yet. This will be a busy trip! :)

My grandkids all LOVE the Aladdin Show! It's one of the top things on their list of "Must Do's". It's not uncommon for them to want to see the show more than once on our trips. Our trips are for at least 4 or 5 days. It's been this way for many many years. Being a live show, each show is a tiny bit different.

My grandkids are DGS 20, DGD 16, DGS 12 and DGD 10. The two oldest have been going to DLR with me for the last 10 years. The younger two, married into the family 5yrs ago and have been going ever since. We go at least once a year.

I feel once you see Aladdin, you'll see why people say "It's a must".

Let us know what you think after your trip.

I feel like I am the only one who is not a fan of Aladdin. The theater is gorgeous, as are the sets and music, but it's just too campy for me. I don't care for the Geni's modernized jokes because it's not in the samr time frame as the story. One the otherhand, we adore "It's Tough to be a Bug". We all love science and bugs in our house, and get a kick out of it. It helps we love the movie "Bug's Life" I'm sure. :magnify:

My 9 & 11 year old would not think of missing Aladdin on any trip to DLR. We were just there in August and watched it and they want to go see it again in October when we go back. It's a family favorite!

We haven't gone to It's Tough to Be a Bug in 4 years because it FREAKED my youngest son out. He has sensory processing issues and it was just too much for him. I haven't dared tried it again since.

Aladdin hands down. It's funny and amazing to watch. I find the Bugs rather annoying and was glad when DH also didn't want to see that one again.
