Next Friday, DCA is scheduled to open at 9:00. From what I've read they often let people in 30 minutes early...is that true even on the days that hotel guests get in an hour early? If we can get in at 8:30, is everything open or just a limited area?

When we were there last week they didn't let anyone past the rope. We had EE and I got into the FP line up at 8:56 and they were still holding everyone back at that point.

Will we be able to get in far enough that I could at least pick up my Photo Pass + card at the photo shop before rope drop? I'm not sure where the rope drop is. Thanks!

When they let you in early, you can only access BVS until rope drop.

Along the same lines, they used to let you in half an hour before the park officially opened, and you could get FPs for Soarin' and WOC. Are you still able to do that? Or are you held at BVS?

We were there last Friday and they let folks in the gates at 8:30, but you could only get into the main entrance plaza where there was a rope and cast members holding up the crowd going to Cars Land. The rope dropped at 9AM. I don't know if you could get to Soarin' or anywhere else before 9- couldn't see over that way from where we were standing. Note that there is a separate queue for Radiator Springs fastpasses that starts alongside the Carthay Circle building.

You're held behind the ropes for Soarin (and Hollywood Land and Cars Land). Not sure about WOC near the GCH entrance.
