DCA- New Park=New Hours?

A thought just came to me. I wonder if they will change the hours when DCA is through with all of the changes. During the summer it opens two hours later than DL. And I was always being asked by surveys there which park I came to first that day. Doesn't it seem obvious most people are going to go the park that is open? If they wanted more people there, they should open it up earlier.

Why are the hours shorter? Do you think they will give DCA the same hours as DL after they fix it up? If they did, would you go there first thing in the morning? I think I would, at least some days.

I don't know but they do the seway tour at DCA before the park opens so I wonder if that is one reason they keep the hours later.

It does seem strange that they would wonder what park you go to first when DCA isn't even open at that time. But I guess not everyone gets there when DL opens first thing in the morning.

I think I would go more too. I would probably stay later and close there even if it closed the same as Disneyland unless I was making an effort to see fireworks ect but that would happen only once trip most likely. It drives me nuts that they kick us out and we have to go to Disneyland that is more crowded.

I agree. We almost always go to DL the first day just because it's where the kids like to go. But even the days following we're more tempted to go there in the morning and then go to DCA after our afternoon break. Just weird it opens so much later. They could definitely bump up the tour time. I would be more likely to go to DCA first if it opened at a similar time

I wonder if the new World of Color show will increase its likelihood of it staying open later (like until when DL closes).

If DCA pulls in higher crowds, it will effect the schedule guranteed!

BTW they ask which park you entered first since many locals and some others do come later in the day and they may have started at DCA, I know we do sometimes.

Yes, I can see if I couldn't get there at 8am then it might be better just to head over to DCA first. Well, I hope they extend the hours by the time all this work is done. I would love it!

My BIL speculated that the earlier closing was to try and even out the flood of traffic trying to leave after closing.

I've only wandered through DCA once, but we are staying at the PPH and having b-fast at Ariel's so we are planning to spend our second day (of a 2-day mini vacation) there. I'm planning a similar trip in May with dh and we will likely do the same. But after everything gets done...that would depend on the results.
