I have started to plan our trips to Disneyland at times when there are no food festivals. I find them to be a big negative on our DCA experience. I wish they were in Downtown Disney instead.
I agree it’s a negative. I don’t like the Festival of Holidays as well because it’s one of the reasons you don’t have a parade in DCA. For retail thinking park management, food and wine festival validates the idea that revenue can be constantly generated along a potential parade route in DCA. If they put on a parade then revenue would be reduced and in retail you want every foot of the park to generate constant revenue. If you have a parade it would require more staffing to move the food kiosks out of the way along the parade route. Can’t compare selling some balloons, spinning light trinkets and snacks with alcohol sales and high priced finger food with a wine and food festival.
For all those grousing about no “Paint The Night”, there’s no reason for management to put on a parade. Parade interrupts revenues generated hourly in DCA with simple wine and food festivals. Just another bad idea originating from Florida.
So we will be there during this festival and a busy week right after Easter. We enjoy F&W at WDW. Are there areas to avoid in order to steer clear of crowds? Or this festival just makes the parks that much more crowded overall?

My experience last year was that the main thoroughfare became very crowded, especially later in the day and at night. Part of the reason is because of the construction walls for the Marvel area, which has reduced the available space. It really wasn't all that bad though, and if you enjoy Epcot's F&W I think you would enjoy this one too.
