DC tourist ??

Trying to rental a vacation apt/condo for our family of 5. Is the Capitol Hill area ok? What about Columbia Heights? Is Alexandria too out of the way? Also, any restaurant suggestions? Thanks!!

Capitol Hill is nice but can be unsafe in the evenings for walking around. I wouldn't do it but if you will be indoors by dark, it's a nice area.

I don't know enough about Columbia Heights.

In general, Alexandria is good but Alexandria encompassas a LARGE area and it really varies. Where in Alexandria specifically?

Lot's of good restaurants and you should start a separate thread on that when you decide where you are staying.
